We were seated at a table with a perfect view of Tolcarne Beach. The restaurant is bright, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Our waiter, Kyle, was fantastic—helpful and attentive, and the kids adored him! He was very patient with their questions and our random conversations, especially when we inquired about the fish dishes. The chef even came out to speak with us and offered my partner a taste of the sauce before his order.
The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and light, and the sauces accompanying the adult meals (cod and monkfish) were delightful. The portion sizes were just right.

I dined here with my partner for an evening meal and was warmly welcomed by a smiling waitress. After checking our reservation, she offered us a choice of seating: either indoors or outside on the deck with a breathtaking view of the sunset. The menu featured a great selection of dishes, and our food arrived quickly, beautifully presented and delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable given the high quality of the freshly cooked meals. My partner recently returned from a stay at Tolcarne Beach, and I can't praise the apartments, restaurant, and staff enough! On our first night, we had an amazing waitress (unfortunately, I didn't catch her name) who gave us fantastic recommendations for food and drinks. She even surprised me with a candle in my eggs on the morning of my birthday. The food was delicious! We hope to visit again in the future.
We have had a lunch and evening meal here now, the cocktails are very good and worth just popping down for a few if you don't want to eat. Both meals were delicious, more formal in the evening but still somewhere you can relax and have a good time service is good and the venue/ vue amazing. Well worth a visit.

Just taken my daughter for a meal for her birthday at The Colonial, great food lovely view, a special thankyou to all your amazing staff, helpful polite and friendly, our waitress Ellie was so nice and really made her birthday special, thankyou see you all soon x
this place is really special! it is worth taking the walk along the piste or the steps to the tolcarne beach. beautiful decor, large selection of drinks and a great menu to boot! amazing view over the beach to the sea and newquay harbour.
It’s gorgeous here, the best views, a great big glass of wine, and a lovely member of staff has brought gorgeous thick blanket because it’s getting a little chilly here on the veranda.
Spent this evening at the colonial tonight for my birthday had a great meal the service was excellent food was praised by everyone that came thanks guys one of the best places to go
