This was my second and last visit to the Compound. The service was awful throughout the meal and the food was below average for even a basic restaurant in Santa Fe. I still couldn’t tell you who our waiter was tonight, since he never engaged or even spoke to us. We ordered sparkling water, which immediately got topped off with tap water (the sparkling bottle was on table). The duck was sent back for being very cold and the waiter never even acknowledged the issue. This dinner was about celebrating a great friend that has never been to Santa Fe…. and then she gets cold duck. My chicken had no flavor, cold gnocchi and was very generic. The mother/daughter next to us hated their steak and pasta...
Our main course, the pork tenderloin, was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, inclusive of the vegetables. The bread and desserts were also at a very high standard. The service was excellent, with everyone pitching in no matter what the need, and we're sorry we waited so long to go back to The Compound for dinner! That will be rectified. Thank you to everyone in the kitchen and out front. We really enjoyed the total experience and it made this birthday extra special.
The food is excellent, and service was friendly and attentive . . . perhaps too much so: our meal was repeatedly interrupted by polite inquiries about whether we were enjoying it. Given the East coast urban prices, the portions seemed a bit small but the overall experience was very pleasant and the food was as good as we've had in Santa Fe (where we live).
Our cocktails were very good (Negroni and dry martini). They had a very good selection of wines by glass. Two of us had the Shrimp a La Plancha and the third person in our group had a Pork Loaf. All of us loved our food. For dessert one of us had a chocolate cake and two of us had a Carrot Cake, also delicious choices. It was a wonderful lunch.

We travel extensively and live in Santa Fe. This is one of our all time favourite restaurants-bar none. Kudos to Kristina the sommelier as always. The Compound is on par with our favourite restaurants in Toronto. The food is consistent and service is very good.
Service personnel missing one waiter to 14 guests??? For ever to get our drink order. My Duck breast was room temp. may guest pork loin tough and cold. Never never again to be coming here.
Soup was cold, chicken dish was almost uneatable. Service was not on par for a high end restaurant. Felt rushed. Overall a negative experience.
Fabulous food and service. Great atmosphere. Certainly one of the very best in Santa Fe.
