Salèlles-d’Aude is a little sleepy village along the bucolic Canal de la Robine, a southerly branch of France’s famous Canal du Midi. Cook n’ Roll is a crazy little...eatery hidden away down a leafy lane and featuring an old Citroën van serving as its garden table setting hatchery. my partner found this place quite randomly over the internet. we were looking for a restaurant not too far away and followed the positive reviews on tripadvisor. the best decision at all! Shadow-dependent trees on a hot summer night combined with a lively and very friendly atmosphere...give you a warm welcome on this hidden place (which can easily be found with “Gogle maps” or another navigation system.) the menu is small and contains a nice selection of appetizers and main fish and meat dishes, a vegetarian option can also be asked. if they are still hungry, the hostes will spoil them with a small selection at desserts afterwards. the service is super friendly, the dishes prepared from care...

if they are looking for somewhere relaxing, romantic and served with high-quality diners with a smile they will find nowhere better. the selection is minimal, but always with fishing options. the location in the trees is so relaxing and when they get away from their table. they find a beautiful tree house supposedly for the kids and the world coolest toilet. Try it. they will not be disappointed. we even have a lift to the house because the taxis were not available! it was an evening to remember

We have been a number of times to this fabulous garden of wilderness over the last couple of years. Jean-Marie creates eclectic and delicious food in his very cool van and Arianne is the epitome of professionalism and friendliness serving us. The setting is just...so beautiful and we are surrounded by nature and Jean-Marie's plants and vegetables which he lovingly grows from nature to your plate. Wow! What a find! Simple two choice, three course menu with fish option for both starter and main. Shows how easy it is to take a great idea and turn it into something special. Sit outside in the ‘allotment garden’ and meet great people who...like to eat well cooked, locally resourced food and some home grown vegetables and herbs.

Had heard about this when we had been passing on our boat previously and so pleased to be able to go this trip. It’s a unique experience, a meal that will not be forgotten in a very special garden setting, simple, imaginative food cooked well...with passion for what they do, a very friendly welcome makes it a perfect evening.
