this has to be the worst place I have ever experienced in the FnB industry. Not only was the service attrocious, the food is inedible. I went to visit my daughter in Double Bay and on the way we stopped over at this cafe for breaky. Boy oh boy were we in for a treat from hell. We ordered our drinks, they came after 20 mims, then we ordered breakfast. My wife got poached eggs, salmon, and toast, and I got the steak sandwich. After about 40 mins of waiting, I approached the guy who said that he was the owner, who said that the reason why we were waiting is they had burnt my steak and were redoing it. 26 December 2016 - after a movie we decided to go to the Cosmopolitan for a late dinner. Arrive at approx 8.15 pm. The place was half full and we took an inside seat as it was a bit windy in the outside area. Given a very limited menu as it was a public holiday we decided to stay anyway and chose our meals which took over an hour to be served with. We asked where our food was a few times and a very rude wait who is apparently the "owner" told us they were very busy with queues of people which were not there when we arrived and therefore should have had no bearing on when our already ordered food arrived. I have being going to this restaurant for over fourty years.Has always being a consistent standard with professional service.NO LONGER.......AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!After new management took over about 18 months ago it has got worse and worse!They deliver overcooked DISGUSTING food and when you complain the owner himself !tells you there there is wrong with it!!Bad food ,Bad service........AVOID!!
Just tried to get some lunch....waited 10 minutes for menus (after trying to get them ourselves and being told fairly rudely that they would be brought to us) Eventually managed to order some coffees that still hadn't arrived 15 minutes later. Gave up and left. Shocking service.

I was a huge fan of Dee Bees, luckily when it closed staff shifted to Cosmo , also a similar menu so only had to walk across the street for a similar experience.
My husband and I had a really hearty meal here. The service was functional, not really friendly but we enjoyed the meal. We would go back.
Established reliable Sydney landmark. Food is nice and the service is attentive. Good selection of basic wines. Great for late nights
Went for an impromptu dinner, if you are hungary don't come here. A waiting game for your food to be served about 30-40 minutes.

I have had breakfast several times here and always enjoy Good for a quiet newspaper and coffee or for the full on brekkie.
This place is always open and very convenient. Can get coffee at any time! Lots of food and dessert options too.
