Strolling along the streets of Avignon old town the traveler is faced with a multitude of choices when it comes to food. We already had had some French food during our trip, so we decided to be "adventurous" and eat something different - and this is when we came across La Couscousserie de L'Horloge. The menu includes some vegetarian options but also dishes with chicken and lamb. I had initially decided to go with a chicken tagine, but our waiter recommended the lamb tagine - and right he was. We had lunch here after visiting the Palace of the Popes. Ordered salad with roasted chicken, salad with smoked salmon, and roasted lamb leg with couscous. The couscous dish came with generous servings of couscous and lamb and a big bowl of vegetable soup. Great meal!!! The only little problem we had was the lamb's strong aroma kept attracting fly. But, that's something expected for outdoor dining in the summer. Strongly recommend!
...but I would really not bother with this one. The kitchen is in an alleyway behind the restaurant, the menu limited to couscous and similar, and if that's what you want there are many better places. Pretty rubbish service. Toughish steaks. Average wine. Really better to go elsewhere.

This is the best couscous I have tasted outside of paris. The taste is superb and the setting with the hotel de ville in the background wonderful. Service may be a little slow but sit back and enjoy the experience. The Tunisian staff are very pleasant and I would recommend it.
friendly staff but too long for few customers. the prices displayed on a table are different from the prices displayed on the card that is not presented what makes we paid 5 more and the price of drinks is announced orally not very honest all this
delicious and well served couscous, welcoming and practical staff that we arrived at the time of closing the kitchen and we were served with the smile. reasonable addition. We had a very good time and we had a good food. Thank you!
A great restaurant in the centre of the town square, our waiter Azzedine was so helpful in selecting from the menu deciding on the lamb shank tagine with prunes orange & apricots. So nice ,so different flavours, highly recommended

Had supper here last week as we fancied something a bit different. The lamb tagine was very tasty and a good portion. The service was a bit on the slow side but we had plenty of time so it was not a problem for us.
