Well, I've been a huge fan of Cream Shuga for many years. It's still not bad, but twice recently I've gone in and had less than desirable experiences. Once, the staff was too busy chatting and playing to get my coffee prepared, so much so that I had to say something to them to get my coffee (off-put with no apology). Since this is a coffee shop, people are on their way to work or typically have time constraints, so this service is not considerate of their customers. Today, I went in, and the staff as a whole was nowhere near as pleasant as they used to be, and one part of my order came out first, then the second part came out late...and COLD. This restaurant is a wonderful spot for coffee, breakfast, bagels, or whatever you might crave. They also serve some amazing sandwiches. It's perfect for both breakfast and lunch. Personally, I love the ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant, and they have a unique sandwich called the Maverick, which features chicken and candied bacon along with other ingredients. The staff is fantastic, and the place has a laid-back vibe; even when it’s busy, they manage to serve you swiftly. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making everyone feel like family.
As a first-time visitor, I was very pleased with my experience. The food was delicious! Both my wife and I ordered protein bowls, and they were fantastic. My wife enjoyed a coffee, while I opted for sweet tea. The muffins they offer are quite large—though not made in-house, they were still very tasty (might they be from Costco?). My only complaint is that we received our protein bowls before our drinks, which we didn't notice until later. However, the staff was kind enough to warm up the muffin for me! Overall, it’s a lovely spot for breakfast!
If I could give 0 stars I would. The owners are so greedy. They do not allow their employees to keep THEIR tips. The food is so cheaply made, yet they charge the average amount. Coffee is disgusting. If you tip an employee give them cash and just hope they keep it without management seeing. Not to mention it is a disgusting place.

Had the blueberry muffin and the coffee of the day. Pretty good. I'm usually disappointed by blueberry muffins, this one was pretty good. I don't quite remember the coffee of the day, caramel something. But the flavor of the coffee was not overly present, like synthetic, it was good cup of coffee.
Very nice coffee shop and restaurant. Interesting half of building is old jail. Cells have been turned into sitting rooms. Vegan lunch option is a hummus and veg sandwich on sourdough. They have cow milk alternatives for an extra $1.
Every time I have ordered from there. The order has never been right and always stuff missing. Service is horrible. Will never order again.
Phenomenal food and plenty of drink flavor options. Not to mention plenty of friendly cheerful staff to make your smile brighter!

The Food is always great here! I take all my clients here when I’m in the Jefferson area. They also have WiFi!
Friendly little place with delicious food and coffee. Old jail rooms are cool.
