Very small place near the north end of the downtown core. It's full inside and we have to sit outside, which is a bit chilly. Instead of heat lamps, they had a blanket for every seat. I found it very effective. An excellent idea than heat lamp which usually cooked the face but the feet are still freezing. The waiter is very nice and speaks okay English. They also have an English menu. It's the first time that I saw a small restaurant's menu list all the potential allergens for each item. The service is generally excellent. We’ve been there for lunch and we came back for dinner. If you are staying in Rennes, this crêperie is a MUST! They have an extensive list of crêpes and also different dishes to try. Lunch: crêpe mielée and crêpe voyageur Dinner: Lasagna with salmon, cheese and galette with a side salad wine and beer an amazing cheese cake with salted caramel. Taste is excellent, ambiance is welcoming, friendly and cozy. The hidden gem: their chefs are 5 stars!! For a Saturday night, it’s better to book in advance, they are everything that is OK for having the best time in Rennes. You are the best Ouzh-Taol!!
This was the first restaurant we visited in Rennes and we were delighted. In my next trip to Rennes, definitively, I come back. Service was very good and the crepes were delicious. My favorite one was with the sausage and a white sauce. I ordered the one with Andouillette which is the specialty but it was not as good as the one with sausage (I think it is called Rustique) that ordered my friend (we shared our plates). For dessert we shared a dame blanche, that was perfect. This kind of places, you need to reserve. The place was packed within minutes.
My family and I had a delicious meal at this lovely little creperie. The galette with scallops and prawns in a garlic butter and chilli sauce was so tasty probably the best galette I’ve ever had. It was washed down with some really good local cider and all at a very reasonable price. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Rennes.
