After reading many reviews or more like options, we thought we would check it out for our selfs, so last Tuesday we called in for dinner, there were 8 of us, started with pub loafs oh yea get the cheese added they were perfectly heated, the whole group selected from the menu and specials board, and there was not one complaint I had lamb cutlets perfectly pink served with 6 veggies and there were lots of them crisp seasoned my wife went for the daily special which was house made rabbit pie served with creamy mash and greens it brought a tear to her eye said it was just like her mothers, our guests choose flounder , fish n steak all cooked to perfection then we were talked in to deserts by our...

Pub dead. 2 other patrons.Friendly chatty barlady or else a 2 would have been scored. Cook late; took ages to prep. Lights off in Dining room. Patrons left and we should have too. Waited at table for ages. No bread and butter as was usual and no News Papers in the Bar either. Ordered Flounder and Beef Cheeks. Both plates were ice cold on arrival and food tepid. Flounder good but Veggies not so good. Beef Cheek tender but bland.Unseasoned and tepid. Veggies tepid and tasteless Not freshly cooked. Short cuts not up to scratch. Two tiny veg chips were ice cold on top and flaccid. What was the cook doing in there for so long? This is not good value for money at $25 & $28Doesn't compare with prev...

This is a quaint little Pub on the edge of North Hobart, we went with friends recently for an evening meal after reading a newspaper review that mentioned they served whole flounder, a meal that my friend and I really enjoy. We both ordered the flounder and it was of a reasonable size but slightly over cooked never the less it was a very tasty meal, our wives ordered beef cheek and mushroom pie and fish and chips and both these meals were very generous serves. We will return when we are ago looking for a pub meal.

Pub grub nothing better. Well that's what my wife and I thought.Went into the Crescent ( thinking English food). Their was pizza a seventies prawn cocktail. No bangers & mash or a descent pie ( unless you like beef cheek). We were sat near the kitchen. My wife had flounder ( small and overpriced). I had the $28 steak. It would of been about 150 g.Worst thing was all we could hear were microwaves beeping.Bit of a turn off. Maybe they should learn to cook to order. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

fantastic old english style pub. you won't find too many tourists in here. it's full of locals all enjoying a quiet beer and a chat. the food was freshly cooked and generous sized portions. the workers are the owners so they are very friendly and accomodating. the sticky date pudding for dessert was great. local beers on tap. great place for a visit.

Called in for an evening meal prior to heading off to see a gig down the road. Despite some of the previous negative reviews, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the flathead fish. Batter was great, as were the chips. Service by a brand new waitress was commendable. Pub is quiet...perfect for conversation. Will be back.

This hotel claims to be an English pub. Only thing even related to that is shutters on the window. Australian menu, not even bangers and mash. We shared a pizza which was good but stingy on the toppings and finished with golden syrup dumplings which were stodgy and heavy. Overall disappointing and overpriced.

Dropped in for dinner to a rowdy foul mouthed group which should have been the clue. Order meals and got the wrong meal. If you are going to have a scotch fillet shintzel on the board don't mix it up with the scotch fillet. No check on our meals. Overall a disappointing experience. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
