Absolutely amazing coffee and equally terrible ambience and I will not recommend it if you are planning to have a conversation with a friend or colleague or god forbid you are planning to work from there, it is an absolute nightmare. If you didn’t know, it’s an old bank that was converted into a cafe but they don’t own the whole bank, it shared so very cramped tables and seating that’s overflowing with people. Long lines make the baristas lives miserable as they try to keep up with the orders and it is hard to almost impossible to find seating. You will be lucky if you did find one, don’t let it go. My recommendation would be grab the delicious coffee and maybe a pastry or two and get out of...
This location is a converted historic bank and has a bit of a Harry Potter feel (think Gringotts). We came on a Saturday and the line was super long, so expect about 30 45 min wait. We picked up an egg/mozz sandwich and ordered 2 hazelnut lattes. The sandwich bread was quite dense so maybe ask for a knife to cut smaller. One of the lattes tasted different from the other it could be that one of them did not get the syrup shot ordered. The staff were friendly and the interior is a very nice experience. There are open work areas but it's quite busy so it's hit or miss. There are banquette work areas that can be reserved for $15/hr or $80 daily. It's definitely an interesting experience.
I think all the 5 stars are rating highly because the space is so impressive. I worked in this building for 2 years and now work down the street for the past 3.5. The coffee is good but nothing else is. The quality of the food has declined. It looks as though they still purchase their pastries from the same bakery but the scones are now awful and their yogurt is awful. I couldn’t eat more than a bite of each. You’re better off across the street in the centre mondiale for food on the go.
Have not tried the food but this has got to be one of the most gorgeous coffee shops in North America. It’s in a historical building with super high ceilings and comfortable spacious seating. Can’t wait to try their coworking space sometime. They have meeting rooms, booths, and open area tables set aside for paying coworkers. 100% would love to try!! An incredible place in the Old Montreal and a must visit for any coffee lover. The open space and high ceiling really adds something special and unique to the atmosphere. The cubicles offers some privacy if you manage to get a place to sit. It's our third time here and the food is still pretty good. It's very busy, so come early.
Beautiful spot but definitely expect a long line on a Saturday morning. The architecture is amazing so that kept our eyes busy while we waited in line. The staff did their best to keep the line moving but it was definitely a crowded space with people seated and people waiting for their orders.
Beautiful coffee shop located in and old bank in the old port of Montreal. Came in for an excellent coffee and a nice mtl style bagel. The only knock on this place is that it can get quite busy but I guess that’s the price you pay when you have an amazing space like this!
Stopped in on a recent visit to Montréal. I was blown away by the beautiful architecture—what a great spot to enjoy tea and a pastry. I had a London Fog and it was very good; the croissants are wonderful. Plenty of seating, staff was friendly, and prices were good. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
This is amazing heritage site in Montreal, serving hot beaveages and small bites. It gets crowded fast, so expect to stand or sit in not your favorite couch. Service was little slow though, they could do better. I had to wait for my order longer than I thought.
