we have booked to stay in the crown inn while we were close to the bluebell line. we came hours before check-in because of easier than expected traffic on but before that was even open inn...landlord was out and offered us to come in. we had a few things to do, so decided that we would come back when they were open when we arrived again (yet hrs before check-in) we were greeted and shown in our room. After we settled in the city, we went down to drink a drink before we went down for the railway. the renter, the renter and the staff were all very friendly as the local moats. we had a laugh before we screamed. on our return we were re-entered into the cash that was now a little more business w...
ordered items from menu, only to be told over several visits back and to our table and making new selections, that were not available! Menu was type printed and tatty, why can a daily reprint be made that takes account of the availability...of ingredients. It was a birthday lunch outing and really embarrassing to me as host'. Never saw anyone in any senior role and unfair on a young member of staff to deliver this sloppy service! The food we eventually received was very nice.
Although we had to wait a little longer than normal for our food, only main courses that were eating that arrived was excellent quality and very good value for money. the staff was friendly and efficient. the menu choice was not huge, but we were there. only with fry in the head, but the menu offered a greta deal of variety and define for all different diets in the circumference. I would recommend and return!
Had a lovely lunch at the Crown this last Sunday. The Lamb was wonderful and beautifully presented. We were only planning on a main but it was so good we decided to have desert. It was very busy and the staff were rushed off their...feet but still gave us excellent service and attention. in the frame of a gift with a tour and a wine tasting in the nearby bluebell vineyard there were two cursed at the crown. the food and service was excellent. freshly cooked eating to a really good standard, and friendly service from the bar staff. for anyone who has visited the opposite, it is strong.
I loved this Sunday lunch. The beef and all the trimmings was fantastic. Well done chefs. If I’m honest parking up I wasn’t sure if it was going to be okay but actually was a really great shout. Puddings were lovely too. For Sunday lunch...it’s highly recommended
Excellent cheese burger and fries alongside perfectly served Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter. Friendly, efficient service and the price of their food and drink is very reasonable.

Had a fabulous dinner this afternoon I had the Mackeral Omelette which was delicious it’s a really lovely pub well worth a visit.
