I lived in the Czech Republic for two years and enjoyed the food every single day. The food here is as authentic as it gets! The chef starts cooking at 7 AM and continues all day long. Everything we tried was fantastic! The service was wonderful; Pavlina and the chef were kind enough to speak Czech with me, making the experience truly special. Each entrée comes with soup and dessert, and there's plenty of food. The svíčková is a traditional Czech dish, and it was absolutely delicious! I cannot exactly say what I had or exactly what it was called because I did not take a picture of the menu. However, it was delicious. It was 3 large pork medallions in a red cream sauce served with bread dumplings (which I highly recommend) ...the sauce has a hint of vinegar, and sour cream. It was outstanding. If you want to try something different and experience the old world way. Go here and experience something old that will be new to you. The waitress was very helpful in guiding me to order Czech Food that an American would like.
I was delighted to find out that they had reopened under new management. The food was fantastic! I ordered the koprova served with bread dumplings and sauerkraut, and both the main dish and sides were absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the generous portions you receive.
This is a warm, family-run restaurant! The food was quite good, although I've had better in Chicago. The liver dumpling soup and goulash were both excellent. The entrees are generous and come with two sides, soup, and dessert. Be prepared to share or bring a container to take home any leftovers!
