to stay near crosby, brought us to gurkha. when entering the restaurant it seemed rather dark and empty occupied with only two other tables. the service of our waiters was fast and efficient, although the owner was sometimes somewhat overlaid. good poppadome came with a lot of dives and offered a good start. my chicken curry was advertised as sharp and was very satisfying and full of taste. my wife was less impressed by her teller than favorit the Nepalese advertising. she felt it was lacking taste and I had to agree. the prices were very reasonable and if we lived closer, we would give this Nepalese another attempt.
I'm posting this because I've just seen the disappointing review. The reviewer is obviously a moron passed for past and has no taste buds since the food is the farthest away from bland I've ever eaten. It's just sour grapes for not getting the discount...they expected. And as for the misery who claimed about staff being too friendly! Get a personality! I love this little place it is so fantastic. It's a pity some of the customers are so awful
we were recommended to eat them and we were not disappointed. the food was fresh and full of taste. I had a lamming that was divine. we shared a mixed starter that was beautiful. the whole bill was a shadow over £50 with one. bottle wein, so much worth. would not hesitate to recommend this little jewel. will be back soon.
have been to da ghurka some paints and were always really impressed by eating and service. came last night with a group of sbout 10 ladies and we had a fabulous evening. eating was delicious as always and the service was...fantastic the owner is really nice and friendly and makes them so welcome. Eaten at the Gurkha loads of times and it is always consistently fantastic. The owner had to switch to NYE takeaway for the first time in 8 years due to last minute lockdown and the food was as brilliant as always. Great place and so...well ran. Give it a try if you are thinking about it!
This would be a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the overly friendly manager!! Hugging women without asking is not cool, shaking hands also out if date and not appropriate in a pandemic! Move with the times please. Otherwise food is superb! Female staff...impeccable
Always a big, warm welcome and a salute to my partner by the manager. Food is a very high standard in presentation, taste and portion size. If you like Thai or Indian food you will probably love this. Cosy and comfortable too. We'll be back.
We had a busy day playing golf at Hesketh and arriving for dinner in Waterloo, most places closing at 9 , but Da Gurkha stayed open for us, fabulous food , great service and value for money . Absolutely ,would go back anytime Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
eating is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing and attentive. my partner said it was the best curry they ever had, and everyone I brought has always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
