Regarding the mac and cheese, I really wished it had that crispy, baked top— the kind that provides a satisfying crunch from the noodles that baked without cheese. Still, it was delicious. The brisket was outstanding—tender, well-seasoned, and cut thick. You could really taste the flavor from the wood-fired grill.
Feel free to load up on the portions! If the collard greens make a bit of a mess, that's perfectly fine. Oh my goodness! I stopped by just after closing time, and they still let me place an order. I got the beef ribs. I had several errands to run, so by the time I ate, my food was cold—but it was still delicious! The potato salad tasted homemade with fresh-cut seasonings, and the greens were perfectly seasoned too. If it’s this good cold, I can only imagine how great it’ll be when warmed up! I highly recommend Daddy O's for authentic, tasty BBQ. The ribs are so flavorful they don’t even need BBQ sauce. I was surprised by the price, but it’s been hard to find quality, flavorful food like this lately.
I’ve been going to this BBQ joint, which specializes in smoked dishes, since the COVID pandemic started, and I’ve always had an amazing experience. The owners are super friendly as well! Recently, I had a bite of the pork rib (the end piece), and it completely changed my view on pork ribs. The flavor and texture were absolutely perfect—it was a revelation! I even saved half of it for later. Right now, I’m in a food coma and stuck on my couch. Seriously, do yourself a favor and visit this place. You won’t regret it!
The brisket at Daddy O's was excellent, but the menu is on the expensive side. For example, a pulled pork sandwich is $13, a two-meat meal costs $25, and mac and cheese is an additional $3. The brisket was the highlight—tender enough that I had no trouble sharing it with my 18-month-old. Everything else was decent, though not outstanding. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, but the staff appeared inexperienced and the kitchen was somewhat disorganized. The wait time for our food was about 30 minutes.

I ordered the tri-tip along with mac and cheese and beans. The meat was cooked perfectly and incredibly flavorful! The side portions were generous; they certainly don't hold back on serving sizes. While the mac and cheese was slightly mushy, it was still delicious. The beans were outstanding! Overall, I was very pleased and will definitely come back to try other meats.
I should've come here years ago. Reasonably priced for what you get. Tender, juicy, and smokey with mac on the side? I'll be back
Their website listed them as open. Google said they were open. Their sign said they were open. But they were actually closed.
This restaurant is so good! the best bbq in sac! the service is great fast and kind. The ribs and chicken are a must try.
