Ordered a birthday ice cream cake 4 days ago, to be picked up at 12 pm today. Arrived at 12:10 and there was a sign that the store was closed for the day due to a water main issue. No one contacted me to let me know the store was going to be closed. Wasted time and a bus fare, too late to order from somewhere else and ended up with no birthday cake.Also, had a previous issue when they served us sour ice cream and when I requested a refund, the manager/owner dug into the trash can and gave me an expired coupon. Don't plan on ordering from here again.
I had a terrible experience at this location on truscott drive, the service was at best fair due to the owner making the cashier do other things rather then taking my order, i can’t complain about the ice cream as it was good but customer service needs a big improvement if they want returning customers, I definitely wont be returning back even though i live close by it, i will go to the one on lakeshore and clarckson for a way better customer service !
I visited on Saturday to buy a cake and waited at the counter for five minutes while two staff members completely ignored us. It was clear that the two young men seemed very uninterested in assisting us. After a while, I decided to return the cake to the freezer and went somewhere else to make my purchase. I've heard great things about this place, as my family has been coming here for years, but I was really disappointed with the poor service.
This review reflects my experience from today. There was a line at the store, but the only employee present, Eman, truly stood out. He greeted every customer, took their orders, and prepared them from start to finish. Even while managing the stress of a busy environment, he remained calm and composed. The service was incredible—fast and efficient! Usually, when I visit a Dairy Queen, it takes a few minutes to prepare the Cherry Misty Slush, but at this location, it was ready in seconds. I appreciated being able to watch the process, as they made my drink right in front of me instead of retreating into the kitchen.
I prefer to drive an extra 5 minutes to this Dairy Queen location instead of going to the one closer to my house at Lakeshore West and Southdown. The desserts here are always made perfectly, which is really important for any business. Plus, the staff is always friendly.
The service is consistently quick and the food is delicious. This place is a hidden gem in the mall that you absolutely must visit for its cakes. They offer a wide variety to choose from!
