This was our first time dining at the Vancouver Convention Centre location of De Dutch but I think it might be my favourite location now, so I sure hope that it won't be our last time dining there! In all honesty, the food is just as good at any other location of De Dutch but I just love the picturesque setting of this one. With its huge windows overlooking the harbor...How could it not be my favourite? My two meat eaters both decided to go for hamburgers. One thing I love about being in the west coast is that I get to enjoy breakfast. It's something that I don't really eat a lot because of my Intermittent Fast Fast. So I pull up the app on my Samsung and found this spot not too far from my hotel. Scenic walk towards the water and I have arrived. I ordered the Boer Pancake Breakfast option. 3 meats, potatoes and two sunny side up eggs. Beautiful presentation. Seasoned perfectly and I had a great time smashing. A fancier looking De Dutch location right on Coal Harbour, they get a pretty good crowd thanks to Coal Harbour being an attraction in itself, not to mention Downtown and cruise ship tourists. Food is consistent with other De Dutch locations and fairly good, staff is friendly, service can be hit and miss (some days they're on top of anything I need, some days (while they do always get my order right) I'll ask for something and they'll say sure but get sidetracked and blow it off). Because it's such a tourist magnet, I would be wary of coming here during weekends or other peak brunch hours. I'd get here early if you could. Or if you see a crowd at the host desk, maybe just keep moving and try...
This place was great! Our kids loved the Pannekoekens, think large crepes instead of pancakes if you are from the USA. The outdoor patio is awesome if the weather is pleasant for your liking. The kids were entertained with people watching, boat-plane takes offs and landings. Service was super friendly and chill. Would definitely recommend it or dine in again. Get out and try something new.
So I admit I have memories from my childhood of dutch pancakes with apple sauce, sausage and stroop on top that I can only relive here. But they do deliver it. The fresh squeezed juice is also good. And this is a Canadian breakfast joint so the maple syrup must live up to it as well and it assuredly does. I will go here twice every week I visit I have to.
Slow service! Cold food! If you are coming to eat I would not recommend. If you are coming for a view then it's great. The service was horrible. Never checked in on me. I asked for my check and it took 15 minutes to bring it. The restaurant wasn't so busy that the server couldn't provide good service.
What an amazing place! We got to sit on the little outdoor section by the water and it was so beautiful! All of the Dutch pancakes are amazing! I got the Canadian Dutch pancake which came with delicious bacon and over easy eggs. It was an amazing experience with great service! Highly recommend!
The Dutch pancakes were good. The ambiance and service were nice and relaxed. Located right along the seawall, this a a nice spot to sit and enjoy the view.
Great Dutch pancakes here near the waterfront. I asked the 2nd time I came and asked for a ham hash topping and they did it! Very tasty!
