I had never eaten Ethiopian food before. It was an enjoyable experience. A friend and I came here to celebrate her graduation. Employees were so nice and the server was very patient. We ordered the beef and cheese sambussas. Delicious with the sauce they were served with. We shared the Demera Messob for 2: Doro Wot, Ye-beg Wot, Lega Tibs, Dinich Wot(very spicy , Tikle Gomen(omg! , Yatkilt Wat. Honey Wine Sangria and Indaba Sauvignon Blanc, South Africa were both delicious. I’m not into vodka but I’d surely order the sangria myself. We shared their take on Tiramisu which was fantastic! Food was delicious as always. Started off the sambusa platter followed by the Demerara Messob (serves 2). Everything was cooked to perfection. Only complaint would be that we waited over 20 minutes for our Demera Espresso Martinis and had to cancel the order. Besides that food and ambiance wonderful and highly recommended!
Being new to Chicago and Ethiopian food, we would have appreciated a bit more explanation of what was in the food and how to eat it. Everything else was pretty nice with the exception of the noise level. So loud, that conversing was difficult.
Excellent vegan option! We had the sampler and had so many wonderful wholesome flavors. Some were spicy, others not as much, and together they made an incredibly delicious meal. We will be back next time we’re in town- new favorite!
