First time in Chicago and the first time eating Ethiopian food. If you’ve never had it and curious to try it, before you go anywhere else, please please please go here. Absolutely delicious and I felt every bit of Ethiopia on my palette. If I could eat it everyday I would without a doubt. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere so relaxing and personal. I ordered the appetizer messob(an appetizer dish)and ordered another order of it!!! Knowing that I was tasting my vision of Ethiopia as I’ve seen pictures of was the best experience I’ve ever had with food. You won’t be disappointed at all…
Food was delicious as always. Started off the sambusa platter followed by the Demerara Messob (serves 2). Everything was cooked to perfection. Only complaint would be that we waited over 20 minutes for our Demera Espresso Martinis and had to cancel the order. Besides that food and ambiance wonderful and highly recommended!
A friend introduced me to Ethiopian food about a month ago and Demera is an hour and a half from where I live and I’ve been twice since he introduced me to this amazing place and it’s only been 2 months! Delicious food amazing service and nice atmosphere!
Being new to Chicago and Ethiopian food, we would have appreciated a bit more explanation of what was in the food and how to eat it. Everything else was pretty nice with the exception of the noise level. So loud, that conversing was difficult. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Excellent vegan option! We had the sampler and had so many wonderful wholesome flavors. Some were spicy, others not as much, and together they made an incredibly delicious meal. We will be back next time we’re in town- new favorite!
I have been wanting to dine here for so long and am so happy that we finally did! Everything was delicious, and the service was wonderful even though we were there near closing time.
