Stopped in to buy some sandwiches for a flight back to Vancouver. The place looks like a house and is stuffed full of deli things. The lineup was long, but not as long as we had expected as our local said sometimes the line is out the door. You pick your bun then give it to the sandwich makers with your order by sandwich number. You can ask for your sandwich to be customized with less of this, some of that, and more of that (Billy Connolly rant anyone? re toppings. Sandwiches are FULL of meat, cheese etc. And weigh a ton, but only cost around $7! In Vancouver a similar sandwich from a deli could cost upward of $12. My only criticism is that the sandwich can be dry unless you ask for mayo or...
get there before or after lunch time or you get in a line up with the rest of us to the best sandwich in town. yes there is a line up out the door at lunch time, it s that good. Fresh buns meat and cheese and the best quality stuff. CASH only because it s faster to serve people. there for years and still hard to find a parking spot at lunch time. When i stop in I asked for surprise me with whole wheat nothing spicy with everything on it Every time I stop in, over the years I never had a bad sandwich. Just go back for more...p.s. if there is any Canollies left get them fast before there all gone
It's not often I rave about sandwiches. I'm a vegetarian so as much as I like the idea and the convenience, sandwiches without meat just usually aren't that great. But the sandwiches here are incredibly delicious. Their vegetarian options off the menu board both sound good on their own but sound even better combined, so I usually just ask for anything pickled (giardiniera, spicy eggplant, pickles, etc) with some cheese and mustard on their fresh bread. It's messy but it's so stupid delicious I can't comprehend it. Nice guys behind the counter too and of course, unbeatable price.
Every time I think of going to Ottawa, I become nostalgic at the sandwiches I had here 12 years ago. And I was glad to see, and taste, that nothing here has changed. People show any time of day and form a military-like line to get their favorite sandwich. Just a tip: if you don’t know what you want, just pick a number; you won’t be disappointed, I promise. Pro tip: ask for pickled egg plant, it makes every sandwich EPIC. Addict tip: take an extra sandwich for later; trust me, you’ll get “the craving”. You’ll thank me later.
I have allergies to dairy- I sent a group order in asking for no cheese, and the spiciest sandwich with regular mustard they had 16- (I was the only one with restrictions) -what I received was a ham sandwich with 3 slices of cheese and mayo. Very upsetting. The sandwiches look big from a far, however 85 of the sandwich is bread. The bread was stale and hard. I do not recommend this place at all. They were once a great deli, now they are losing their appeal.
For only $7:00 (cash only), you get a huge sandwich that you will go back for again and again. They have about 18 different sandwiches with Alexi's Diavolo being my very favorite (if you like spicy). The service is very fast and friendly. If you go at lunch time, be ready to wait in line. Fortunately, they are so fast at making the sandwiches, that you're in and out in 5 minutes regardless of the line up. Enjoy!
Amazing people and very good customer service. The ingredients are fresh and taste amazing. The prices are very good and the quality and quantity is amazing all the best dessert everything tastes amazing and the pasta omg become You never get anything better every thing fresh made and in business please go to this place you will not regret it in any way
We ordered four subs. The subs were good, but the employee who made our subs was quite abrasive and seemed uninterested to serve us. We asked for Mozzarella cheese on a few subs and said that they did not have this cheese, although we could see a large block of Saputo Mozzarella behind the glass.
I love Di Rienzo Sandwiches... they're the biggest. Fresh meat, fresh bread... what you want. Very, very good. Love the Turkish sandwich, it's my favorite by far....very good. Definitely the place to go if you want big sandwiches! Must try if you're in and around the area!
