First time visiting and was kicking myself for not eating here sooner! Stopped in for Bbq sandwiches to take home. I got there before lunch so there was parking. I ordered and waited at a table. The place is like an old timey soda shop. People seated at counter on barstools. There were a few tables. Everyone was so friendly and offered me something to drink while I waited. It was clean and very inviting atmosphere. Service was quick. We loved the sandwiches! I was surprised by the size of the sandwich and amount of bbq and slaw. The best bbq sandwich in area! We loved the food! Looking forward to going back to try other goodies from the menu!
I’m new to the area and this has become a regular lunch spot for me and I can’t speak highly enough of this gem. The food is comforting, tasty, and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Service is EXCELLENT, everyone is SO friendly, even in the midst of busy lunch rush. I’ve only ever been during lunch rush and the staff is always absolutely crushing it. Support this spot by getting a delicious meal and tipping those hardworking folks behind the counter!
Ordered the grilled chicken plate with 3 sides: Mashed potatoes, cornbread and peaches for dessert. With half and half sweet, unsweet iced tea . . . It's a southern thing! Ask for Ashley . . . She'll treat you right! Tasty and also very affordable diner food. Last time I had the flounder. Very good! Update: Got the vegetable plate lunch for just $8.25!!
We had a wonderful dinner at this authentic treasure of homestyle southern cooking! Every dish was delicious and our waitress was friendly and helpful. We spoke with the owner and she was delightful! This is a “home town” diner. I have been going for years. The staff is amazing…friendly and they call you by name when you are a regular. The food is fresh, filling and great. Best burger and hot dog in town. Busy because it’s good. No disappointment here.
Did not even get to order they would not even wait on us. We watched as they greeted several others and took their orders. Used to eat here frequently since it is only a couple of blocks from home. Will not return.
Quant little diner in Newton. Great burgers, fries, chicken pie, and the best homemade deserts you've ever had. So good you'll want to slap your Mama.
