I have visited different Dixons locations, including the one on Swan Lane and the Leeds Road branch, but have encountered the same problems of melting ice cream and impolite servers. The Batley location seems to be the most consistent, but even there, the quality can be hit or miss. It appears that the company may not be putting in the effort to maintain their standards anymore. I first discovered Dixons during my university days and have been coming back to Huddersfield at least once a month with my family to enjoy their ice cream. However, with the decreasing portion sizes and increasing prices each year, I am starting to think it's time to find a new favorite spot. I would suggest saving...
I went to buy a family tub and asked for a small empty tub, apparently they 'don 't give stock away ' which I could appreciate if I wasn 't buying anything, I offered to pay for the empty tub along with my family tub and apparently can 't even do that. I ended up having to buy a my family tub along with a medium (filled with ice cream) I feel sorry for the poor girls working there this evening, what a guy. I 've been going to dixons since I was little but out of principle I will never visit that branch again. His poor customer service skills made me behave like a true Karen, Nigel who I believe is the manager, needs to improve on his customer service skills. Wow
I don’t know how or why I haven’t reviewed this place sooner. The ice cream is simply delicious, always a good choice of flavours and different ways to enjoy your ice cream as a milkshake, waffles etc. I alway go for the Dixon’s blue in a tub or as a milkshake. I’m not quite sure what the flavour is but it’s to die for. Try it!! The price is pretty average and in line with most other ice cream/ dessert places. I hope to see this place expand to more areas in the next few years.
I visited Lockwood Dixons and ordered the mint vegan ice cream. The server initially started to put mint ice cream with cow's milk in a cone, so I had to correct him. When he reached the bottom of the tub of vegan ice cream, he offered to find more. However, I suspect he ended up putting cow's milk ice cream on top, which does not agree with my stomach. I am 80 years old this year and have fond memories of eating ice cream from a shop in Lockwood when I was between 2 to 5 years old. The shop, then called Rhodes's Ice Cream, used the same original recipe that Dixons uses now. It is the best ice cream ever. I wish one of their vans would come around the Kirkburton area so I could enjoy it more often.
Love the new dixons at Batley, amazing ice cream, we travel all the way from Wiltshire to see family and have our favourite ice cream, the best ever. We were served by a lovely lady called Yasmeena. My husband has been eating Dixons for over 45 years and introduced me to it 36 years ago. Just wish we could get a shop near us. Ally and Nick
Ice cream was amazing,tasty milkshake as well from here, they have more flavours here, the staff here are friendly. There is a parking behind the rear of the place. Dixon's is the best place to get ice cream from milkshake Leeds road West Yorkshire.highly recommended
Really fancied an ice cream after my tea! I got a medium tub and a flake no wafers or juice given or offered and it cost £4.25! The tub was £3.00 so a tiny flake was £1.25!!! Next time I’ll buy a flake from the shop across the road for 70p full size! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
