Seriously good! If you are traveling through Little Rock don?t miss this local gem. It?s a cozy diner atmosphere with the red white checkered tables and no frills and the food is seriously delicious. We had the chili, tamales, salmon (which was by far the best grilled salmon ever and enough for the meals , House salad with their garlic and oil dressing, fries (Yum!! , ice cream and pecan pie. The salmon is garnished with red onions lemons and served with boiled potatoes. My son loves their sweet tea and I had a great time speaking with the service staff who treat you like family. This was only my 2 or 3rd visit in over 20 years. I had three newcomers with me. They seemed to enjoy the historic cozy atmosphere. The waiter was very attentive to our table. The restaurant was busy on Tuesday night. Tamales was kind of dry. Chili not much taste. Fangessen surprised me. It could be said that they filtered and cleaned their deep foam oil. The plate was excavated with fries. Hush puppies were burned. I think there were small round maize butterflies on my plate. They were crisp. Slav and tartar sauce were a good balance. The burger I tried was average. I'm just glad that the other 3 in my party, 2 out of town, 1 of the 2 first time visiting Arkansas, seemed to enjoy it.
I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend treat me to dinner at Doe's Eat Place in Little Rock last night and I enjoyed it immensely. We had the homemade tamales and chili which was divine. We also had a wilted lettuce salad and two orders of the fried shrimp basket. The food was all delicious and the conversation was even better since it's been almost 30 years since the last time we saw each other. The interior is casual and relaxed and the walls are filled with pictures of many of the celebrities who have dined there. Parking can be hard to but we got a spot after circling the block. Looking forward to the next time!
It's been a couple of years since I have been here. It still is awesome. The hot tamales were great. And the porterhouse is to die for. Their chef knows how to cook a steak from seasoning to the right temperature. Their wait staff was top notch and on top of drink refills, friendly and knowledgeable about their food. I totally recommend eating at Doe's Eat Place in Little Rock.
This is a great place. Steak is definitely a treat. I will say, however, that it will not be like being a gourmet aged beef that melts in your mouth. It is more about getting a GOOD steak, that is HUGE, for a very reasonable value. The portions are crazy. The wet salad and the tamales were treated with a treat. This is a must for me every time in Little Rock for work.
Amazing food and great service. Don?t let the first impression fool you. This restaurant and bar is built in a 25 foot wide building built in the 1920s. Steaks are fantastic and service to match. If Craig is working ask for his table. You will not be disappointed. Not a glamorous photo but that?s the bone from a porterhouse steak we shared.
With my bro and pops eating Friday and got me a double cheese burger and some chili cheese pommes. Burger was one of the best I had in a good time, would recommend def to get one if you haven't! Of course I'll go back.

It hasn't changed over the years except some of the staff, and is still a great place to eat! I highly recommend sharing the porterhouse until it's time to chew on the bone and then it's time to fight! LOL!
