donato has a beautiful atmosphere and a beautiful space. eating is always good, my favorite is the jazzy risotto. the pork is crispy and fat with delicate meat to compensate the bitter risotto with parmesan and cauliflower. their salads are always fresh and they have a good wine selection. their appetizers are delicious and have plenty of summery vegetables. I recommend the inherited tomatensalat. they also have excellent coffee! if they like coffee with dessert, they try it absolutely. I wish they had a coffee to serve because I like their coffee better than coffee bar and philz. I was disappointed with our dining experience tonight. Service was painfully slow simple things (water, condiments) took 20 minutes or more. My dish was served cold. One bottle of wine was plainly awful, but the server tried to insist we pay for it until we suggested someone at the restaurant try a glass. Maybe I just came in with expectations that were too high, but I would pick a different place next time, given the opportunity.
Staff were very friendly and attentive, venue is alright. I thought the wine selection was average and I ordered the braised lamb which was not that tasty. It tasted more like oxtail than lamb and not good oxtail.

Well, we really liked this place when they opened. I'm not sure what happened but, considering the price for the dishes, 2 stars is in line with the quality there these days. The pizza was the most likeable dish.
Good, authentic, interesting Italian food. Rather good wine list, even by the glass. Service is sometimes a little slow more outside than in, I think. A couple of the outside tables are a little windy.
Food was tasty and presentation was good. I ordered the pork chop and it was a thick cut. Decent size for a hungry man. They have an extensive menu and a few items are keto friendly. I would go back!
