I ordered the beef bomber sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The meat was tender and packed with flavor, and the portion size was quite generous. I also had the option to choose from a variety of sides. The bartender was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. There was plenty of parking available, and the restrooms were well-maintained. The prices for both food and beer were reasonable. I tried the Colonel Hopkins Vermont 32 IPA, which had the most vibrant hop aroma of any IPA I've ever tasted! Our server, Sarah T, never checked on us ONCE after giving us our food. We tried getting her attention many times because she never gave us our curly fries (which we specifically said we wanted as an appetizer), but it was impossible because it seemed like she was actively avoiding us..? She never made eye contact, always rushed by our table without even looking over at us…so after 10 minutes of trying, we finally decided we didn’t even want the fries anymore. What’s the point of having a waitress if they don’t check on you, not even once? You’re not gonna make any tips if you call that “waitressing.” She also never brought us waters, and my portobello burger was burned on the bottom.
Great food, and the service was excellent. First time trying Donnelly's, but I'll definitely be back. The Ed Baronowski sandwich was fantastic if you're looking for something a little different. My buddy got a Cajun chicken sandwich, and we both tried the chowder. All very good. For family members, we picked up wings and the French dip, which were also excellent. The service was seamless, and our food arrived promptly. Highly recommended.
service was good and liked the atmosphere. We had the fish fry and it was just not the best, overly breaded and greasy, fries not homemade and very small amount of coleslaw , no taste. They did give us a very large piece of fish, but with a very small container of tarter sauce, asked for a little more and charged an extra 1.50. Thinking other selections would be better. Had a lovely lunch here with family. Kind service, delicious food. Very nice outdoor dining. Simple food, done well. Great cocktails, strong and cold on a warm day. Visit here the next time you are in the Village of Fairport, walking the canal or shopping. Yum.
I absolutely adore Donelly's. I've been a regular visitor for years. The food and service are consistently excellent. They offer a great selection of fantastic craft beers on tap, and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. I highly recommend it!
Amazing memories here, great environment to meet up friends or family. Food was good overall, but reuben was overcooked. Wings are the best here!
