The place is small with only the counter for seating, but the food was good, the prices were very reasonable, and the owner, Rami, was very nice. I had fried chicken (ask for the spicy sauce to make it even better), beans and rice, and plantains. Food hit my craving for good Cuban food without fake atmosphere. I also bought cuatros leches for dessert. My total meal plus a canned ice tea was $15! I asked Rami if this was correct because it seemed too low, but he said the bill was correct. I will plan to come here again!
A year later, I returned to Cilantros Cafeteria, before another cruise. The empanadas were just as amazing as I remembered (and still super hot with yummy cold spicy sauces to balance them out), the fries were crispy, and the cuban coffee was heaven after a red eye flight. Not to mention the company and conversation with the chef is amazing. I wish I could transplant this cafe home with me. I'm not a local but when given the chance, i'll always come back to CC!
The lady running the place is amazing. At first, we were the only three customers in this tiny spot. Then, four more guys arrived, and suddenly the bar top was full. She was the only one working but managed to prepare fresh breading for our steaks on the spot, rather than using pre-made. She also skillfully whipped up coffees, sandwiches, and other hot dishes. It was quite impressive! I absolutely love this place; it's the only Cuban restaurant that I crave.
Terrible, the place I most cherished as a staple for Cuban food has lost its touch. I used to drive a long way just to come here but I could not have been more disappointed. Frozen food instead of fresh, slow service and no flavor. The people were nice , but I'm not there for that I'm there for the food , and it's no longer what it used to be . What a shame. This place is called Cilantro Wok, and I've visited it twice now. They offer a mix of Chinese, Indian, and Jamaican cuisine. There's no seating available; it's only takeout. I really like the new concept!
Small casual establishment near Miami International airport with a great variety of Cuban dishes and very friendly staff. We had three dishes and a bottle of water for just $28.00
The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. My fiancé and I absolutely loved the Cuban sandwich and the pan con lechon. We'll definitely return whenever we're in town!
