We celebrated a milestone birthday and the experience was seamless from start to finish. We booked the snug for 10 people. A large display was accommodated for without fuss, and our supplier (Balloonfully yours- highly recommend) was able to set up the display a few hours in advance. We were asked to preorder, so as you’d expect the food was served in a timely manner, and all correct. The food was lovely (we have come to the Duke often, and never had a bad meal), portions were decent, everyone was full. The service was brilliant . Our waitress checked on us periodically. OK, I suppose I might be biased as I can walk to this delightful pub. Having said that, the food, the presentation, the ambience, all the staff are second to none. Certainly London standards, it makes me proud that this is our village pub. Finally, great acknowledgement and praise needs to go to the chefs, the quality and presentation of ALL the food is absolutely outstanding. All the other nice to haves in a pub would mean nothing if the food wasn 't as excellent as it is. It is a must visit venue, worth the drive or in my case, worth the walk !! Congratulations to all.
I feel I need to leave a review after reading a few recent bad reviews on here for poor service. We had a lovely meal today with family all of us had roast dinners which were great, fab portion sizes, and pudding to follow. Service was really good, there are plenty of members of staff working who are nearly always busy. Special mention to “Mrs Hill” (she works at my daughter’s school) who was our waitress today thanks for being attentive! Would definitely return. Not really sure why it’s my first visit here to this lovely pub when I live down the road!
We had a table at 7pm on March 11th. We had two young men servers, we all said how friendly and helpful they were, joking with our table the whole night. They were lovely! I sadly did not get their names but hopefully from the time and date you can identify who they were and pass on our thanks. The food was wonderful as normal. Starters, mains and puddings all cooked to perfection, all hot and fresh and tasted wonderful. It made for a lovely birthday meal.

Made the mistake of booking for an evening meal when the most awful band were playing. May I suggest you put the band in a room so the rest of us dont have to hear it, it truly was so loud we couldnt even have a conversation. It was truly horrific. Sounded like a strangled cat. We cut our meal short and headed home. Would definitely come again but not when that noise is on.
First time visitors, this is a great place for Sunday lunch, food is very good and service is excellent, its always nice when using a restaurant for the first time to be able to leave such a positive review, definitely recommend.
Family celebrations for 10 people. The Duke of Wellington is now favourite place to eat in the Wellingborough Rushden area. Fantastic food and attentive staff for who nothing to much trouble. Thanks for a great experience.
Sunday lunch was delicious. Amazing portions. Very well trained staff. Also a take away option for our daughter and she was very pleased with her roast beef. We are back in the area in the summer so we will be back.
