It's tucked away behind the Pad Thai place on the corner. The lovely lady who welcomed us and described every dish in the buffet for us (only $14.99 per person)! was so pleasant during our meal. When she wasn't tending the stove in the kitchen, she shared her life story from Persia to becoming an honorary member of multiple tribes N.A Indian Nation. I didn't get the whole story straight, but I'm sure we'll go back again to get the rest of the story. The food was totally new to us - a mixture of Persian, Native Canadian (including bannock,) as well as others - I lost track. After a lovely meal, she dished up a takeout container with enough food for two (how many other buffets will do that.?)...
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and highly recommended. It is all homemade by a woman who both cooks and serves as the chef and waiter. She offers a variety of cuisines, including Persian, Afghan, western, Indian, Middle Eastern, and First Nations dishes. The restaurant also offers a buffet on Saturdays and Sundays. There are only a few tables and chairs, so it is recommended to call ahead to reserve a table for larger groups. The owner shared her personal stories with me, including her work advocating for First Nations rights, despite being Persian herself. She even opened a refugee camp in her own home. I was impressed by her and will definitely return to enjoy the food...
A friend and I found the Pad Thai restaurant next door closed, so this was the nearest option for a late lunch. We expected some sort of native cuisine, but instead found a buffet of quite exotic fare and a quite delightful and sweet woman tending the restaurant. She gave us a tour of the buffet dishes, offered a large salad to start, followed by a delicious lamb soup. The food was superb, and the very kind and delightful woman tending the restaurant was on top of all our needs - and sometimes more. The final bill was $20 per person, which may be rich for a buffet, was good value given the rather random and unexpected fare, the quality of the food and the completely sweet attentions. A fine...
This restaurant is something special. We headed out in search of a meal and stumbled upon Eagle Nation in Pitt Meadows. They offer a unique combination of Persian, East Indian, and Native Indian cuisine. The flavors were unlike anything we had tried before and the overall experience was truly remarkable. We arrived with empty stomachs and left with full bellies and hearts, thanks to the heart-warming stories shared by the owner, an invitation to a special event, a personal handwritten dedication, extra food for takeout, and a warm hug from the owner. What started as a simple dinner turned into an extraordinary evening we will never forget.
We read some nice reviews about Eagle Nation Buffet, that's why my husband and I decided to visit this restaurant. Place is not tidy, food is not fresh ( woman who owned that place microwaved it for us.) She offered us free food to take home. Sorry, we put that food in the garbage after. Do you want to pay $20.00 for old awful food? Never again! In respect of old woman, we did not tell her anything. She also behave like crazy. We do not recommend to visit Eagle Nation Restaurant.
This place is a true hidden gem, I don't know how I've lived this long without this food in my life. The owner, story teller, humanitarian, very sweet lady is beyond accommodating and kind, and the food is to die for. My favorites are "kebab and saffron rice " and eggplant dish ! fresh ingredients, organic and the best eggplant dish ever. Don't get me stated on their secret recipe salad dressing sauce! 10/10 I could live off this food. Great job!Visited July 2015
I thought by the window and name I would find only bannock and Salmon but this is a multinational buffet with everything from curry lentils to cabbage rolls and large yummy meatballs and yes, spiced salmon. I didn't see bannock but perhaps the cook would make it?The woman who cooks and runs the tiny place is so kind and helps the natives to fight for rights. I fell in love with her when I met her. I wish she was my mom!Stop by, you won't regret it!
The food here is simply amazing and delicious. I was very surprised it tasted SO good. Had passed it by a hundred times - finally stopped in and now am telling everyone about it. The lady who runs it is super nice. It is a tiny place but you can get your food to go if you want. I had most of the items from the buffet and glad I did. It is sort of Mediterranean and Persian. YUMMMMMMMMY
