Food: Sunday lunch, we chose the beef rib to share at £28 with parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, red cabbage and kale. We also had some pigs in blankets for £6 extra. The food was impeccable, loads of meat, soft and tasty, full of flavour and extra gravy. Yorkie pud was crunchy and huge. Veges were cooked to perfection, especially the red cabbage, one of my faves. Gravy was thick and properly made. Gorgeous. So why four stars? Service. It was slow and awkward. It took a while to get a seat even though I'd booked well in advance. We received a very warm welcome from Jess as we walked through the front door of the Earth and Stars even though unfortunately she had lost all power to the beer taps! Jess reassured us that there was bottled beers and wine available and a great choice of food She welcomed our cockerpoo Ruby providing a bowl of water almost immediately We decided on the Burger and the Caesar salad which were both very tasty and homemade Jess was very chatty and provided a great service despite the obvious stress of not having any keg beers available We would have no hesitation in recommending the Earth and Stars and will visit again when we return to Brighton
So glad that Earth Stars is still around and doing great, locally sourced food. The food is generally always good. The staff work hard and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the food isn't as hot as it could be when it comes out (but coming from a different floor on a cold night with staff having to squeeze between punters to get the food to you, that makes sense). The hispi cabbage is seriously amazing! The steak is great. The veg burger is outstanding. The brisket arancini little balls are great. I've not had the roasts but my friends say good things about them. The bar staff are friendly and work really hard. Visit. Try the food. Enjoy.
My wife and I went to Earth and Stars recently while on vacation in Brighton. Located in The Lanes area which has lot of shops and restaurants. The restaurant is nice and airy with a funky type vibe. Large bar area with good selection of beer and wine. I had fish and chips and it was choice. My wife had chickpeas dish and another tasty one. Great service and easy going vibe. Highly recommend.

Really loved our lunch on Friday at the Earth and Stars. The food was excellent, our group had the chickpea curry, fish and chips and I had the best steak ever. Would definitely return for another visit. The staff was stretched but showed good humour throughout our visit. Had a nose at the refurb post the Interior Design Master show, I loved the colours and the deco.
This pub was recommended to us, and didn’t fail. Had the obligatory fish and chips in Brighton. Nice little pub, family owned. Food was fresh and hot. Crispy batter on fish, not so sure about the mushy peas (being an aussie , wasn’t expecting that)
Visited on a Thursday evening. Booked a table, we waited over 50 minutes for our meals which when they arrived were not great- Fish and chips and Lamb burger. Fish was over cooked and burger very salty… best bit were the truffle fries.
First time to the Earth and Stars and got to say it was excellent First class service and the food was really good Really nice atmosphere and I thought the food was not expensive for the quality Definitely will return !

We found this pub online after looking for gluten free fish and chips, so glad we went it was a lovely sized portion and delicious. We also had some lovely spritz drinks and the service was very friendly too.
We had an enjoyable Sunday roast, both meat and vegetarian options were very tasty. The staff were accomodating and friendly. We also liked the atmosphere and decor. We'll definitely visit again.
