I had been visiting this restaurant quite a while and it was one of the best until recently. Their staff is very friendly and probably only follow the orders to run the restaurant.They need to change something now to maintain the differentiator values. Last saturday we visited the place along with some of our family relatives and found it to be an average. Keeping Naan/Roti outside the buffet is a pinching approach. By the time bread arrive our lunch was half done by having side dishes. palak paneer needs improvement as it very sour and at times with missing paneer in it. Another Indian restaurant in Ottawa with the same result. Thoroughly disappointing and lackluster food. We went there for a lunch buffet and the whole experience was a bad one. As soon as we walked in, there was no usher to give us a table. We saw couple of waiters walking past us, but nobody bothered to greet us or give us a table. I had to stop someone in their tracks to ask for a table. And he very curtly said, I can take any table I want.Once we sat down to eat, we were surprised to find no one bothered to bring naans to the table. We decided to try out the buffet dinner at this restaurant. The entrance was inviting, but there were still some finishing touches needed. The server gave us a few seating options, and although the chairs were comfortable, the dining table looked outdated. The overall appearance of the restaurant seemed a bit old-fashioned. I recently dined at East India Company in Ottawa and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, reminiscent of traditional Indian decor. I thoroughly enjoyed my recent experience at a 35 person banquet at the East India Company. The six course meal was varried and every dish was delicious and unique. The chef kindly prepared substitutions for guests with special food requirements. The owner introduced each dish as it was served by his polite and efficient staff. The room was nicely decorated and included authentic Indian artifacts. There was plenty of parking too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I have given this restaurant three stars for one specific reason - almost all of their buffet options contain carbohydrates. I was surprised to find couscous in the yogurt. Additionally, I noticed that some very common Indian buffet dishes were missing. Despite these shortcomings, the overall quality of the food was acceptable. However, some dishes seemed to have been reheated multiple times, resulting in a darker, older appearance on the top layer.
The service at this restaurant was good, but unfortunately, the food was not very impressive. I was surprised to learn that breads were not included in the buffet. When I ordered lacha parantha, I received only half a portion. The palak paneer did not have any paneer in it, and the manchurian dish was sour. Overall, I do not believe it is worth spending $30 here.
I have been here before covid,food was just okay that time but now Perhaps they changed the shelf or recipes , food was very good in taste and flavourful being indian taste not bland like lot restaurants are doing it..my kids were able to enjoy food as well , hosts were very good they gave free baloons for my kids ? Went there for lunch today 02 September. The food was good. Unfortunately the waitress was quite rude, which ruined lunch with my family.If you don’t want to hand out cutlery, find another line of work.
