Have been here before numerous times, and sad to say our recent experience will be our last. We were celebrating a special anniversary and found our server and some of the food fell very short of expectations for a higher end dining establishment such as this. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted (my husband had even called ahead when he made the reso to have a favourite drink ready for us, which was not, and for more context it looked about 3 5 other tables, with the majority of dining room vacant). The facilities itself are extremely well maintained. Beautiful grounds and building. One negative was that the indoor dining area had a good number of flies pestering diners it was like we were eating outdoors. Our server was friendly, courteous and very attentive. Unfortunately, I was expecting a better culinary expereince than what my party received. The food, which took a long time to come out, was good, not great. The vegetables were a tad bit too al dente and the gnocchi were dense and tough. Another member or my party had the lobster ravioli and complained that their pasta was thick and tough. Our dinner was one of the best we have had anywhere. Our waiter, Chris, explained the menu, knew how the food was prepared, so that I could avoid any wheat and brought me a gluten free bun so that I was able to enjoy the honey butter, hummus and olive relish spreads. My fresh oysters were presented with fresh horseradish and a tasty mignonette. My husband's appetizer was perfectly seared scallops and pork bellies. Our mains of halibut on fresh zucchini ribbons, black olives and chick peas and veal served on a base of risotto were beyond delicious. The coffee was fresh and fragrant. Pass on the grape pie. Beautiful view and scenery for photos of the lake and estate. Palm trees give it a tropical vibe like you aren’t in Ontario. Great spot to catch a sunset and you might see swans swimming near by!The food was delicious. I had the chicken gnocchi and the flavour was of one of the best dishes I have had. The server recommended a wine to pair it with and knocked it out of the park, I even had to go back and ask for the name of the wine.There was a live guitarist who set the mood and the atmosphere was made for a nice fine dining experience.Highly recommend for special occasions or events! My boyfriend and I have been coming here to celebrate our anniversary for the past three years and we always have a wonderful time. Most recently we had Mitch as our server and he was very attentive and provided us a wonderful dining experience! Highly recommend thing place for a fancy night out.
We had a fabulous birthday celebration on the beautiful patio at the Egdewater Manor today. The food was fantastic. Our server Gage was amazing. Such a beautiful setting. 5 stars all around. Thank you to the wonderful staff.
