I came here last week with my boyfriend for date night and we had a great time. He was less impressed than I was and didn't actually like his meal at all but I thoroughly enjoyed mine. The interior is really cozy and quirky, with great lighting for a date as well. There is limited parking at the actual restaurant but you can park on the streets, just be aware of the time restrictions. Our server was very friendly and although they seemed to be a little short staffed she was attentive and timely. Over many years Einstein's has been my special place for special occasions. Consistently delicious. BUT four of us had an awful experience last week. The spritzer and the Margarita were watery. Our complaint to the wait person set off repeated denials: "both drinks were made with the requisite amounts of liquor/wine" She did not offer to add a shot or remix the drinks.Two of us ordered the steamed mussels which came with a delicious sauce. However there were numerous fragments of broken shells in the sauce; both of us found these sharp and dangerous so we did not continue our helpings. Probably the best meal I've had in Guelph to date! I got Pesto Pasta, and it was DELICIOUS. Pesto Pasta is, according to the menu, Fettuccine tossed with pesto, tomatoes, black olives and feta. I think there was some minced garlic in it, too because I could smell it. It was a perfectly cooked pasta and the portion was big as well. I'm not sure how their other dishes fare, but I'd get one of their pasta again. One complaint is that the food does come out slowly, so either order a take-out or give yourself lots of time. This place is small and a little cramped so it may not be best for large groups.
I have been going there for years but no more.I order the chefs creation because I asked the sever what the person beside had order.She said she would tell the chef I wanted the same thing.When I got my order it was a terrible beef wrap and spinach salad which I ate only the salad. It was the same thing that was on the menu which I would of never order. Nothing different. Where was the creation???The order the person beside me had was a soup, house salad, and a beautiful chicken wrap.Really what would it of taken to do the same order and please a customer.Now they just lost two.
Had the chicken caesar. Was nothing short of magnificent. Real chicken, well cooked and not dry. Delicious dressing. Real bacon. Super crisp Romaine. Was served within fifteen minutes of arrival on a very busy day. Coffee was excellent. Server was charming and effortlessly efficient despite being run off her feet. The building is delightful. Good place for a quiet lunch to read/work. I will definitely be coming back regularly whenever I am at the Guelph Courthouse.
We love this place! Hidden Jem! We go every once and while on Friday nights for that amazing Prime Rib, although everything is top notch quality and all made in house! The waiters are amazing and make your dinner experience all you could ever hope for! I invited my grandparents to join us and we celebrated my birthday and let me just say they were blown away and delighted with everything beginning to end. Can't wait to go back! If you haven't been, go!
Had not been to this restaurant in years. Remains unique old house downtown Guelph with small rooms. Only one chef. Not somewhere to go if u are in a hurry.Mojotos great for Monday special drink. Mexican food incredible. Huge! Servings,Definitely worth visiting. Tasty delicious food. Well wor h the visit and inexpensive for the size of servings.
One of the worst enchiladas I have ever had very mediocre food ..Chef needs to go back to school...2 out of 10!Being generous!
