I'm from Miami and moving soon to Colorado so I had to check out the Cuban food at El Bohio. First, everything was made fresh to order including the ham croquettes and empanadas. The Cuban sandwich was great, bread was great. The empanada shell was excellent, the ground beef filling was an 8/10 because it wasn't quite as flavorful as I'm used to, it was hot and delicious nevertheless. The croquettes were good, the ham filling was great, they were a bit smaller in size than I'm used to. The sweet plantains (maduros) were excellent. The Cuban coffee was a bit disappointing, it wasn't as strong as it should be and there was no spuma (foam), still good but I'll give it a 5/10. The rice and beans...
Without a doubt, this is the best Cuban cuisine around! Don't overlook this gem—I urge you! Dining here is an absolute delight, but what truly sets it apart is the amazing atmosphere. The customer service is exceptional and is a huge part of what makes this place so special! Be sure to try their filled yuca, the Cuban sandwich, and the flan. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu; everything is simply delicious!
After relocating from South Florida to Lakewood, I was thrilled to discover a fantastic Cuban restaurant! This has become our favorite spot for Cuban cuisine. We always indulge in the beef empanadas, Cuban sandwich, and sweet plantains. I often order extra empanadas to have for breakfast the following day. My only wish is that they opened earlier, so I could grab a Cuban coffee on my way to work.
This is the best Cubano I have found in the Denver Metro area. I have been looking for a good Cubano sandwich place since the movie Chef came out in 2014. The food was in my opinion authentic and delicious, and the place was really clean. The decor/ambience is at best strip mall chic or old Subway I will definitely be back for the food, but don't expect candles and tableclothes.

Really, really good food. Great homemade feel. I'm not a big fan of Cubano sandwiches, nor the potato crisps that go on them but theirs is a fine representation. I most always have the chicken fricasee ot the ropa. Both are great takeout items as they are easily reheated if necessary. Don't miss this fantastic spot in Applewood.
Delicious! I had the pork and rice dish paired with sweet plantains, and it was fantastic! The green cilantro sauce was also excellent. Mmmm! It brings back memories of the Caribbean food from South Florida.
Great food!!! The seasoning is very authentic. My husband and I both ordered the Ropa Vieja with tostones congri. We also had a mamey shake and it was delicious. The staff super friendly and attentive.

Excellent! It reminds me of the small, family-owned Cuban cafes back home in Tampa. We will definitely be returning!
