Outstanding. The food and cocktails were top level. We had the shaved Brussels sprouts salad and bread basket to start, then the butternut squash cannelloni and lamb pappardelle. The food was delicious. For drinks we had the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, which I wasn't sure about from the menu because I am not a huge mezcal fan, but wow, it was excellent. Highly recommend El Nido, and this will be a regular stop for us when we are in town. We booked on Open table and we were supposed to have a regular table but we received a call a day or so in advance that Open Table doubled booked us and they asked if we would sit at the bar instead, and receive full service. We loved the bar experience.
As long timer Tesuque residents, 26 years, we have a long history with El Nido. The early years (Dennis and Don) were great. We have tried several times over the recent years, with mixed results. Friday night was the worst. The noise level was unpleasant and a distraction. We realize some folks equate that with having a good timer. We'd rather visit unimpeded. The pasta dish I ordered was very dry and without much flavor at all. The ONLY person who asked us about our experience was the receptionist as we reclaimed our coats. You seem to be doing well, judging from the cars in the lot (we drive by every day/night), so obviously what you are offering appeals to many just not us.
To say this restaurant is an experience is an understatement. Ask to sit at the Chef's table where you can watch the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and the artistry that goes into making these impeccable plates. The meat station is handled with care and expertise as well as the Sous Chef taking care of plates and manning the wood fired oven. The food is flavorful, service is spot on and the experience rivals some of the best spots in Santa Fe. It's just on the outskirts of town and feels like a wonderful adventure awaiting you just getting there. Highly recommend!
we sat in an empty room, the busboy was much more attentive and professional than our waitress, we hardly ever saw her and she forgot some things we asked, later without her back. the pizza came cold and she assured me that they would pick up the arugula before they warmed it up. I made her just get the pizza back. I had a friend I treated so it was embarrassing. Never had such a bad experience here. the last fresh pizza was amazing, but their bad service made this a bad experience.

el nido is perfect for a cozy winter dinner they know how to use this wood grill to a good result! Beautiful smaller menu, so they can make good on their promise of roasted meat, grilled fish, pastas and vegetables. the personal is attentive without floating, cheerful and welcoming. the wine list has something for everyone. we're coming back!
Love El Nido! Our party tried the lamb, the chicken, the salmon and the cannelloni and all were delicious!! Service was great and they were ready for us when we arrived at the time of our reservation. Fabulous evening... thank you El Nido!
the steak was excellent and well cooked, but $55 for a piece of meat with nothing else on the plate seems excessive. we had to pay extra for a potato side! service was excellent.
good wine and cocktails. we enjoyed the shaved hatch salad, the roasted mushroom and the basque cheese cake. our main thing was good, but not as special as the mentioned article.

Everything was fabulous. Our server, Jackie, was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly but not intrusive. We will definitely return.
