Decided to take a group of 16 to my favorite Mexican restaurant for a Mother's day treat yesterday. Made reservation few days in advance. On arrival, found that they are in the middle of a big renovation and SEVERELY understaffed. If you are understaffed, say so and dont accept reservations that too on Mother's day. This is how you lose credibility. Spent over 2 hours just waiting for the food to arrive. Moms were hungry, frustrated. No salsa bar anymore and it just took a while to get some salsa refills. The only saving grace is that the food was good. But no one cared about the food after the long frustrating delays. Thanks El Papagayo for a great Mother's day experience. NEVER AGAIN!
So I went in to order to go and the host was really nice. Ordered the chili colorado but didnt look at the menu so I didnt realize until after it was almost done that it was vegan...I would have ordered it with meat. So I get it and getting home and tryi g to eat it, the togo plates were the soft paper plate material and the sauces made a hole in the bottom of the container and got on my stuff...need a better to go container like styrofoam so it doesnt break. overall not a bad place and might go back again eventually...
We are so glad we found this place! I was looking up Vegan food for my wife a few weeks ago and decided to give them a try. We have been back 3 times since. They have really good modern Mexican food and great vegan options. We try something new every time and are never disappointed. Aside from the food, the staff are very inviting and make you feel like part of the family. Meal type: Dinner
