I went to El Potro last night to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We wanted to try some place new. I can't believe I have lived in the area so long and never thought to check it out. I have definitely been missing out!! The service was easily the best serviceI've ever had at any restaurant. Sady was the nicest person and made my Dad's birthday so special. The food was delicious and very enjoyable. However, the service was disappointing. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were taken promptly, but after we received our drinks and appetizers, the waitress seemed to vanish for about 30 minutes. By that time, we wanted another drink and were ready to place our main order. When she finally returned, she took our order and drink request again but then disappeared once more. We were left waiting without drinks or food. My daughter had to go find her, and although she brought my drink, the others were still missing. Always happy to come to El Potro! The food is consistently great with sizable portions, the service is attentive and the drinks are very much worth the money. It is one of the few options that you can always rely on to get your money’s worth, and I’m always happy to give them my money as a result. With a lot of places the service can be a miss or the price doesn’t reflect the quality/quantity, or you feel unwelcome… but El Potro is one of the few places that you can really sit back and feel assured that your meal is going to be great and that your patronage is going to be appreciated.
The food was excellent! I visited with a large group of 20, but I wouldn't do that again. However, I definitely plan to return with a smaller group or just my family. The service for such a large party was slow, which seemed to overwhelm the server. That said, the food was truly enjoyable. There's also convenient parking right by the restaurant. We didn't visit this restaurant for dinner, but I really wish we had. The customer service is exceptional! We stopped by while her general manager was on duty, and he should be very proud of the place. The entire restaurant is fantastic. We came for drinks and a fun evening, and we definitely got both—a wonderful time and great drinks. Jason is the best general manager you could hope for!
I'm truly impressed with this restaurant. It's the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Everything tasted fresh, and the presentation was lovely—even for my takeout order! They made sure I had everything I needed for my return to the hotel. I can't wait to try a margarita on my next visit to the area.
Loved the food. Everything was fresh and tasted so good. The drinks were phenomenal! I recommend trying the 'Adios ' . I love that the bartender did not go overboard with the ice like most places do nowadays. A perfect chill spot with beautiful artwork and relaxing vibe.
