Absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend, who grew up in Charleston, has always praised their grilled chicken with cheese rice. I initially doubted that a dish from a small-town Mexican restaurant could be that good, but I was completely wrong! The cheese rice was truly outstanding, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The balance of cheese to rice was spot on! The service was also top-notch. We devoured the chips and salsa (which were incredibly tasty), and the waiter quickly brought us more chips. The queso dip here is probably the best I've ever had, made with a creamy white cheese that is simply delicious! I will definitely be back the next time I visit Charleston!
I thought about pouring the cheese they serve you down my throat. My friend I went here almost specifically for that cheese they serve with the chips! It's awesome... Unlike La Bamba, which is the place to hit up after the bars close at 1 a.m. (lame) this place is normally the site of pre-gaming. They have fabulous margarita's and the food is not bad. Again, it's Charleston, so you learn to deal with mainly mediocre food. Usually packed, the service is always good and they have some good Mexican beers for those who don't want margaritas. Never had a bad meal at the place....definitely worth it.
Stopped in as we were visiting the area for the day. The parking lot was pretty full, which we figured was a good sign for a Sunday night. We read the review about the cheese dip: if you don't order it, it's your loss! Mmm...! The Rancherito Burrito was great. Wait staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Will come here again for sure!
We stayed across the street and decided to try some Mexican food in Illinois. Being from California, we know our Mexican cuisine, and we were pleasantly surprised by this place! I'm from Chicago and coming here seeing the high ratings made me want to come here but sadly they did not live up to the ratings. The meat was cold and the food was overall just terrible. Being Hispanic I would not recommend this place.
The staff and courteous and fast to serve. Bravo! My food was nasty. I love chilie rellenos, ordered one and had a hard time finding it. I found. Sliver of pepper under a pile of what looked and smelled like dog food. Seriously, nasty.
I came to Charleston for two nights and went for lunch on the second day. The service was great, everyone was very friendly, and the food was good. I highly recommend at coming for lunch, or dinner. Overall a good feeling place!

I have never seen anything like these large exotic hand painted booths and tables from Jalisco, Mexico. Huge combination meals for $8.95? Not in the big city! (Minneapolis) I will be sorry tomorrow morning.
