I came across a small Mexican restaurant on my way to Phoenix, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The food was outstanding, featuring authentic Mexican dishes that truly captured the essence of the cuisine. If you're driving along Route 66, I highly recommend stopping by this place—it’s definitely worth it! There's plenty of parking available, and there's even a souvenir shop inside. Don’t hesitate to visit; it’s just on the other side of the road. You'll find delicious food at great prices!
The food was delicious and served piping hot. The wait for our meal was quite long, but this was understandable given that the restaurant was almost at full capacity and it was the beginning of the month. Alongside the dining area, there is a Curio shop that offers a variety of items, including jewelry, dream catchers, wind chimes, Katsina dolls, and other Native American art and crafts. The ambiance was very pleasant.
The food was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly friendly, especially our attentive waitress. I ordered the shredded beef burrito with green chili salsa, and it was absolutely delicious with generous portions. My wife enjoyed the chicken enchiladas. The chips and salsa made for a wonderful first impression. Everything tasted as good as it looked!
Just as wonderful as we remember from 44 years ago! We’ll definitely stop by again on our next trip through Illinois. The green chili cheese crisp is the best you’ll find anywhere, and the Navajo taco was fantastic!

Huevos Rancheros was great. Don't usually choose Mexican for breakfast but this was a great stop. They also pancakes, etc.
Great Mexican food! Authentic enchiladas. Rice beans are excellent! Service very attentive and friendly.
