I headed in here with some friends on soul food Friday night. The food was good, not great but good, likewise to the service though the food did come out quite quickly. They had a cool bad playing but the acoustics in the large open space venue made it very hard to hear each other & keep conversation without yelling across the table. The place is very hip & cool but feels very bare, i really think the inclusion of some greenery/ plants/ vines etc would help fill the open void feel. Close but not quite there yet in my opinion
Great café in an unusual location but easy to find once you know it's there. Fun feel to it with stacks of room inside and out. Coffee is good quality. Top rate service. Kid and family friendly. Definitely worth a try and it might pay to book because even breakfast can be busy.
Summary: Service welcoming and attentive. Food good quality. Coffee good. Location - out of the way but easy to find and plenty of parking.

Have really enjoyed this brunch spot for over a year, however feel the food has really gone downhill of late. Quite bland and nothing to rave about. The descriptions sound fancy and yum but when it comes to the table it's quite disappointing. This is a real shame as I love the venue but they need to work on the menu. Just simple things like no butter on the bread, no seasoning on food and not even salt and pepper on the tables.
I went here for breakfast with a friend and ordered the "Morning after the night before" burger which I already thought was pretty ridiculously steep at $16. It didn't come with any sort of sauce/relish and was so dry and flavorless. I ended up having to ask for some sauce just so I could chew it and swallow. Pretty disappointing.

Lovely venue, inside is really cool and you can sit outside by the river torrens. Coffee is delicious, friendly staff and the food is good, maybe a bit expensive for what you get though.
Excellent coffee! Tasty food and friendly service. Tucked away in Thebartons side streets, this Jem is one to check out. This place never disappoints! All local SA produce!
Poor food and poor customer service.
My fish was as hard as a biscuit....and the 'chef' thought this was acceptable and had issue with us politely sending the dish back.
I love this place for many reasons but most importantly:
