I have visited Esperanza multiple times, sometimes just for drinks with my husband. However, this time I made a reservation to celebrate my friend's birthday, as it was her first time there. The food was okay, but our experience was marred by the hostess, who made us feel discriminated against. When she tried to seat us right by the entrance, we asked for a table farther away from the constant flow of guests coming in. Despite there being several open tables, she insisted they were reserved for larger groups. Even on a quiet Tuesday night, these tables remained empty. When we asked to split the table due to limited space, she seemed displeased and had to consult with the managers. Eventually...
My friend was running way late for our reservation, but they were super cool and sat me anyway. This is very rare in LA. The waitress was so helpful and on point. The food was very good....but the drinks were AMAZING!!! Great service and drinks and food. I usually tend to be disappointed with going to the cool new place, but this was wort the hype.
Food and service was outstanding. My mom has very rare severe food allergies and the manager came over as friendly as one could be and chatted with her about the allergies and helped with food selections and modifications. I canât say enough how pleasant our experience was! So thrilled for this spot.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I will definitely return! The ambiance is great and the food is amazing - authentic yet with a contemporary twist. The skinny margarita was also the best I've had anywhere. I love this place!

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic service. Amazing drinks. I sometimes day dream about the Sonora Sunset (their take on a Mai Tai). Food is also great if just a wee bit short of 5 stars. Also expensive.

The food and drinks were excellent! I had the halibut tacos and a light soup, and both were fantastic! I would definitely return to this restaurant.
