Valentine’s Prix Fixe with wine pairings. Delicious, sweet, and quiet enough for romantic talk. Met the owners: Authentic, down to earth, and projected real interest and care. Waitstaff has plenty of “veterans,” indicating a good employer (our waiter was coming up in years). Food was delicious: “boozy raisins,” “last year’s cherries soaked in wine,” some really intense and sometimes delicate flavors punctuating the, *literally*, tenderest roast beef we’ve ever had. server and coworkers were really nice and very attentive to our group, but the menu is just so strange and overall trying to be too hard to be too interesting until everything from the apps to the entreen confusing and underwhelming.
eating is good, but too expensive. the restaurant was almost empty, not an ambiente. for this price level I expect tablecloths for dinner.
