Was told about this place as a place for a real hot turkey sandwich. Well my informant was right. Closed on Sundays they cook around 10 turkeys per day to satisfy the masses. But how could I forget about the sweets. We went on Saturday so they apologized about the selection so looks like we will go back Monday for the home made Flaky Pastry. We did get a chance to try the upside down brownie and was told they are a hit. The staff were correct.Fast and friendly they have two cruiser tables so you can stand and eat or it is packaged in a brown paper bag ready to travel.If you like home cooking and turkey you found your spot in St. John's
It was nearly 20 years since I had tasted the delicious turkey pie that has made this spot famous and fabulous. I was not disappointed. No words can explain how damn good this food tasted. I couldn't leave without 2 cream puffs and a flaky lol Thankfully my kiddo loved the food also and helped me eat the enormous portions! And the staff were fabulous to boot also. All around 10s 10s 10s. This place will be around for another 40 years!! If you haven't had tried their turkey pies you are missing out it's an 8$ pie people! The food divine prices amazing head here!!!
Been wanting forever to try a Fabulous food cold plate as it's been said "it's just like your mom makes".Half of my plate & turkey was covered in potato salad, I literally had to scrape the salad of the turkey to eat it, good amount of white meat turkey, coleslaw, sliced ham roll, stuffing (which was very tasty), I expected more types of salad, usually a cold plate has a variety of salads, mustard, beet, pasta etc..not sure I'll go back for a cold plate but the place smells amazing when you walk in the door, staff was nice & the place was busy..
Simply the best turkey around. They've got turkey lot pies, hot turkey sandwiches that come with a pile of fries, dressing, gravy, and peas! Super reasonably priced (about $10 a for the plate pictured) and their homemade flakies are a must have.

The name says it all! Fabulous Foods! Not posh just perfect home-style meals served with warm Newfoundland Hospitality! The Turkey Pies! Turkey Flip (turnover)! And oven-fresh baked turkeys everyday! Desserts! It's all simply FABULOUS!
Stopped in for supper and picked up a Turkey pie, and a giant flakie. Easy to get distracted by all the pastries and pies on display. Staff are always on hand, very friendly!
Had a two piece combo of chicken and chips with gravy. The food was very good. If your looking for good service and decent food give it a try.
Can't go wrong with a turkey pie and a few turkey flips! Don't forget gravy for dunking! Sweet treats are yummy also
