I met a friend here last night around 7:30 for beers. It was a Thursday night and it was HOPPIN! I was surprised, as it's sort of in the middle of nowhere (which I love as I live in Springfield and I feel like this place is one of our best kept secrets). I had a High Barbery (their amber lager) and a Blackened Seas (seasonal-a stout style beer with black cherries). Both were wonderful. We ordered at the bar, opened a tab, and then stayed at our table and went to the bar when we wanted another drink. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is fun and chill. Good (3.5 star) beer, but odd management practices for a local microbrewery. I could either fill up my 64 ounce growler for $33 (personal Bally preferred due to the superior taste of beer from the tap/lack of unnecessary waste from cans), or I could choosea six pack of the same beer (72 oz) for $13. Their reason for such a large price discrepancy? Long story short, they don?t wantanyone to fill up their growlers because the beer stays fresher in the cans. Yeah, no kidding. Call me weird, but the pressureto buy cans is enough to make me never go back. Sorry.
Beer-wise I appreciate a place with more than one of your standard beer types and this place delivers. I had the amber lager on tap and it was a perfect balance of toasty and easy to drink. There's not much of anything else around Fair Winds so pairing it with a nearby trail walk might be a good reason to roll through. Their fully outdoor patio is small and their taproom is bigger and decently well ventilated, but this is not the place to come for folks more COVID
While my wife and I came here for the food truck, we enjoyed a few beers. Even though they didn't have flights, they did have 5-ounce pours so you could make your flights. They had a nice variety of beers, and while I was unfamiliar with a west coast IPA, I gave it a shot; while it wasn't my favorite, I would still drink it as it wasn't bad. The place does get busy, and while we did have to wait a few minutes to snag a spot along the wall, it was worth the wait.

Beer is very decent. Not remarkable, but definitely Not horrible. Solid atmosphere, solid taste on the brews, and decent food truck selection. Try the 2020 BA Ghost Imperial Stout. One of the better local stouts I?ve had in VA, and I really hope fair winds keeps it going! Double Decker double IPA also decent, although the hops weren?t quite what you?d expect from a typical double.
Fair Winds will always be our go to place. The beer is tasty, atmosphere is good and the service is great. The staff was amazing this weekend. We hosted a joint military retirement there, and the staff took fantastic care of us. Many of our guests had never been and loved it. Thank you!!!
Delicious food and delicious beer! There is catering on the right side when you walk in. They have different food on certain days so check the website if you are going there to eat something along with the beer.
Best brewery in the area. Many IPAS and rad food trucks. The bartenders are super friendly. It can get busy, esp on the weekend. Come early! Dog and ubereats friendly.

Great taphouse and brewery! Friendly staff and lots of delicious beer. If you're looking for food, there is a rotating food cart nearby.
