I enjoyed lunch here with my wife we tried the sampler and I'm glad we did. Before arriving I had my heart on jambalaya but after tasting it I knew it wasn't for me, very dry less meaty than I'm accustomed to. The red beans and rice were as expected and good. The seafood gumbo was so good I got a small side to go with my blackened catfish po boy. The po boy was untrusted which would have vastly improved the bread. The quantity of catfish seemed sparse for the size of the French roll. The cornbread was good. The The etoufee was not my bag, kind of spicy gravy with a little meat over rice. The greens were tasty although heavier on vinegar than I prefer. The green beans were good and the potato...
We took a chance on Fat Tuesday in search of authentic Cajun cuisine, and we were not disappointed. It's the best place for genuine Cajun food in DSM! The staff is friendly, and the food is outstanding. The cheesy grits practically melt in your mouth, and the fried okra is so addictive that you'll want more. The jalapeño cornbread is flavorful and incredibly soft, and the Cajun mac and cheese is delicious—all of these are just the side dishes! The portion sizes are generous as well. I had the Étouffée, while my husband enjoyed the Jambalaya; both dishes had a delightful kick but were incredibly tasty. With great food, reasonable prices, and ample servings, we thank you for a wonderful meal....
These pictures weren’t initially meant for posting; I intended to send them to family back in Louisiana. I’m currently in Iowa for a work assignment and stumbled upon this place. There’s nothing quite like finding a spot that reminds you of home! I’ve visited a few times now, and each visit has been a delightful experience for my taste buds. Everything deserves a double thumbs up, even the tartar sauce. The flavors are truly authentic to Southern cuisine, and I’m so glad I discovered this gem. I’ll definitely be returning until my assignment wraps up. Oh, and they also have wine available, even though it wasn’t listed on the menu. I hope you give it a try!
We ventured to Fat Tuesday looking for real cajun cuisine and they didn't disappoint. Best authentic cajun food in DSM! The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. Cheesy grits just melt in your mouth good, fried okra is addictive just want more, flavorful and soft jalapeno cornbread, yummy cajun mac n cheese; those are just the sides. The sides are large shareable portions. I had the etouffee and my husband got the jambalaya both had some heat but oh so good. Great food, good prices and portions. Thanks for a great meal. Looking forward to a return visit.
My first time here! Our server Daja was so great! She was friendly, flawless at answering questions and suggesting things off the menu for us to try! Restaurant has that New Orleans MardiGras vibe each wall is painted yellow, purple, and green! Definitely coming back! We ordered the sampler platter, shrimp grits, seafood gumbo, and spicy catfish. All of the dishes were soooo delicious! Highly recommend Daja as your server!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a great experience while waiting for my meal. The ladies in the kitchen were very friendly and welcoming! I ordered the catfish, Cajun fries, Cajun green beans, greens, and fried pickles, and everything was delicious! I will definitely be adding this place to my regular dining spots. It's a restaurant that everyone should check out!
The food here is amazing! Every item on the sampler plate was delicious. The blackened catfish was fantastic, and the jalapeño cornbread was simply to die for. The coleslaw was superb as well. Overall, the food is outstanding!
I'm saddened to hear that this restaurant is closing, and even more so about Steven's health. I really hope he finds a donor! I had lunch there today, and as always, it did not disappoint...
