Outside of Paris few French restaurants cater to vegetarians well and so it would normally be unfair to single out any one establishment for criticism. Ferme de la Grande Cour however claims to have a vegetarian menu and our visit was based entirely on this claim. Unfortunately opening the menu puts the lie to that claim. Instead it is immediately obvious that the chef has never opened a vegetarian cook book in his or her life. There are two choices for the main, ravioli and potato dauphinois. It is possible to make great vegetarian pasta but usually when you see it on a menu as a vegetarian option it means that the only thing the chef knows about vegetarian food is that it doesn't have meat...
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting on an estate grounds. Make sure you stop to see the Our Lady of Grace Church and overlook of the Seine estuary.Service was uninterested, but that may have been because he was dealing with 10 tables, but the hostess was not friendly either. Grain bread was stale. I asked the waiter for a recommendation of a red for dinner and he shrugged his shoulders--very different from other restaurants we went too. The Fruits de Mer was a fresh, great assortment of seafood, but hard to go wrong with that (except the lettuce that it was on was wilted). There is one word that sums up Ferme de la Grande Cour and that is ECLECTIC! Never before have we had to share our meal with a massive display of wooden farm animals before. There were so many we even had a wooden rabbit on our table, all 12 inches of him. The food is the same, home cooking at best but some weird combinations on the same plate, for example Sea Bass severed with aniseed sauce, vegetables and rice. The sauce had a slight hint of aniseed but no more, the veg consisted off overcooked pepper's, carrots, baby sweetcorn and parsnip all together with a small mound of rice. A delightful restaurant. We started our dinner outside watching the horses and enjoying the delicious pate' de fois gras. the service is friendly although they struggled with my french. The food was excellent the wines reasonably priced and delicious. When it became chilly we moved inside to their delightful dining room. We will certainly come back again and i am sure we will return on each visit to Honfleur. Our landlady recommended it and it certainly was a wonderful find. It is at the top of the hill away from all the rush down by the water front. An elegant house to have a delightful romantic meal.

We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of La Cerisaie and how pleased we were with the suggestion! The restaurant is in a lovely, quiet position and it would have been idyllic to have eaten Al fresco. However the weather precluded this - but the interior is charming; very quirky with lots of wooden birds and animals. The service was quick & efficient and the food, though not the best we've had, was pretty good, particularly the shellfish & oyster dishes - and all reasonably priced. The wine was also very good at a pretty good price.
This was a Normandy pit-stop for us, en route back to Brussels (Honfleur is at the foot of the futuristic and beautiful Pont de Normandie over the wide Seine estuary). We thought that the "demi-pension" (half-board) menu was interesting, and we were right. Copious, and very tasty, and at a very good price. The dining room was filled on a rainy Tuesday night, probably mostly locals (not everyone was booked in the small hotel like us). The only thing that was pricey (at 17 Euros) was the bottle of local cider. Hats off, however, to the chef.
We had dinner here on a rainy evening in May. The place is very pretty, slightly outside Honfleur center. The restaurant has a traditional décor with pretty touches of colour added by a multitude of colorful wooden animals. The food is outstanding: fruits des mer, meat, desserts were all of great quality and served in good portions (the plateau de fruits de mer for 1 easily serves 2 persons). Lastly, very correct prices (good set menus with plenty of choice are available) and good service.Overall a highly recommendable experience!
We spent a very enjoyable time ordering the 38 euro menu with a splendid seafood plate for a starter followed by perfectly cooked duck. We have visited a number of times and the food is consistently excellent

Our trip to the Ferme de la Grande Cour was simply perfect. The room was very french and comfortable. The food was mainly seafood or vegetarian. I couldn't have asked for more. A wonderful experience
We had a lovely stop here - charming and quiet in the countryside surrounded by birds. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Both the evening meal and breakfast was first class. Highly recommend.
