A marvelous meal. We left nothing on our plates! Our very helpful waiter suggested an Albariño (Anselmo Mendez) young and crisp. Guided by reviews posted by others, we ordered sardines and octopus for starters. Both superb. Octopus tender and flavorful - not chewy. Sardines melt in your mouth. Both dishes beautifully garnished. We then had the black cod - again perfectly cooked and accompanied by an excellent sauce and mashed potatoes. We skipped dessert, shared a glass of vintage port and floated back to our hotel. Expensive but definitely value for money. We have 3 more nights in Montreal and are likely to return and explore other items on the menu. Will post another review if we do.
Ferreira Cafe was highly recommended by multiple people for our trip to Montreal. I can understand why! The storefront restaurant is first -pretty cool as far as decor, the servers were attentive, and very professional mostly [we had one young lady who must have just started-she was a bit clueless] The seafood however was excellent! we shared about 3 fish appetizers and then each had our own main course. It all was fresh and really well prepared. Loved the octopus, sardines and cod! Make sure you reserve in advance-it was very crowded. I understand why they have been in business so long!
Really good meal of fresh seafood in a very nice ambiance. Service was impeccable. We normally don't ask for a wine recommendation because we are pretty knowledgeable, but we did this time because the wine list was predominantly Portuguese. We wanted a red, but not too heavy because we were trying match both a mushroom encrusted black cod dish and bouillabaisse, but there was not much on the wine list other than an over priced US pinot noir. Our server recommended a cool climate, lighter Portuguese red and it was spot-on. Our most expensive meal on the trip, but well worth it.
Overall really good dining experience. Service was exceptional throughout the night. The waiter helped us navigate the options on the menu as well as the specials. We ended up with the "Morue Noire" and for an appetizer "Tomate & Burrata". Our friends ordered this Portuguese restaurant's special, a Fish and Seafood Bouillabaisse which they raved about. Overall outstanding experience, but understand you will spend some money. With a shared appetizer and one drink, $80 Canadian a person is probably the floor. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
What a great place to dine for our final evening in Montreal and enjoy the Portuguese food and wine.The food is exceptional and the wine recommended to us was delicious. The serving staff are polite, very attentive and knowledgeable. The tasting dessert is an absolute must!!A great place to dine in a relaxed, contemporary setting. Not the cheapest place to eat but you certainly get what you pay for :-)
The restaurant is one block from the hotel. And it was very nice to eat there. the service was excellent, as well as the quality of the food. the price is a little higher than in other places, but it's worth it. It is not a very large place, but it is eaten comfortably on the inside as on the terrace it has.
This was my second visit to this restaurant. Everything was perfect, food and service. The owner himself was doing the service. Had delicious oysters and then a salmon tartare. For desert an incredible mousse au chocolat. This is a must if you like food from the sea!

Great dinner for casual fine dining! Calamari over the oysters. The porcinic-crusted black cod is as good as everyone says. And the dessert plate was a nice little bit of everything. :)
