Another of those 'let's sit awkwardly close to annoying strangers' places that seem to be cropping up all over the city. If only it were such a simple equation: communal table = instant community.Annoying strangers aside, the place has potential. Sunny room, sunny disposition (the servers), and an intriguing carte du jour of salads. I had the Baba Bouleh thingummy. It was tolerable at best. Everything was covered in 'crunchy chickpeas' that had turned into tooth-trauma inducing ball bearings.I wish them well, but I'll never darken their doorstep again.
I don't hate the concept here but the prices need to be amended. I got the pulled beef/squash salad and it was really good. Dressing was on point and a lot of different flavor profiles for a salad. Unfortunately I will not go back unless prices drop. I paid around $15 for a salad - not overly huge and good enough for a lunch size. At $10 this would be a 5 star review however it just isn't there for $15. Nosherie and Nosh is of better value. Good luck guys!
I took my son to lunch here while visiting my family in Vancouver. He ordered the Field Cobb Salad and I had the Market Bowl with chicken. Both were delightful! They were made fresh in front of us with a variety of unusual and tasty ingredients. The portions were generous. We sat at long tables with others and were glad we arrived just before noon as there was a long line when we left. I would love to go back again when in the area.
This is a fantastic place if you're looking for healthy good quality food. It's a salad bar that allows you to add your protein. I tried their Persian herb salad that contains mint, parsley, mixed greens, Persian bread, black sesame, radish, walnuts and feta cheese. I also added avocado. They have a great amount of mixed salad options and then a few that rotate in and out. Also you can mix and match select items and dressings which is great if you have dietary preferences. The lineup from 12-1 moves quick but you can...also pre-order for pick up. The ingredients are always fresh and the service is always friendly!! Great option for a fresh lunch.
Visited for a healthy lunch with a colleague. It's a modern cafeteria styled place with about 25 bench/window seats. A good selection of tasty salads, a few soups, and a small selection of juices/water. Not the cheapest around but good sized portions and if you want a hot drink/something sweet there is a JJBean right next door.
Love this place - also convenient location if you work in the area. Good venue for a quick one on one casual business lunch, and I often pre-order online at least once/week from this place. Good quality of freshness and always consistent tastewise. Right next door to JJ Bean for a quick Java after.
