The meal was very disappointing overall. I wish I could rate the food as average, but it was actually the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. The ribs were dry and flavorless, the beef in black sauce and spring onion was bland and watery, and the sweet and sour pork was just dried-up battered pieces served with a separate container of pink liquid with a piece of pineapple to pour over the shriveled pork. The spring rolls and samosas tasted like ones you buy from the freezer aisle at a supermarket, not authentic Chinese cuisine. Overall, it was a very disappointing dining experience that I do not plan on repeating.
As our regular Chinese was closed I telephoned Fortune to place an order. I didn't have a take-away menu available so I requested what we usually have and the member of staff adapted my order to fit their menu. We went to collect the food at the agreed time but had to wait a while as they were very busy (A good sign !! . The food was lovely with the only issue being the missing prawn toast !! I don't know if we paid for this or not as I hadn't a menu to tot up the price but in the end it was no great shakes as the food was lovely and we had plenty !!! I have brought a menu home and will certainly use them again.
This Chinese take away has been in Lisburne Lane for many years and has had mixed reviews during this time, we have had a couple of take away meals recently and we are very impressed with the quality of the food. A wider selection of goodies have recently been added in which the salt and pepper chicken and chips are excellent. My new favourite is Chicken pineapple with cashew nuts but dont forget the hot and sour soup its delicious. I need to try more of the menu to see what i have been missing out on for many years, even the chips are good here.
Have been using this excellent chip shop for more years than I care to remember. Always great service with a smile, the food is excellent and plenty of it at a reasonable price. We always phone our order through, give them a time when we want to collect and it's waiting for us when we get there. Lovely people, great service, must be one of the best in the north west. Been going to this Chinese for years... always good quality food and service, only downsides for me is no delivery service offered or on 3rd party ordering sites eg. Just Eat. There is also no card payment available, cash only which is slightly annoying if you just want to nip in for a quick something! Definitely recommend.
I had a wonderful experience ordering takeout from this restaurant. Their chicken toast is absolutely delicious. However, I found the noodles in the chow mein to be too thin, so I have decided to stop ordering that dish. But overall, everything else I have tried from this place has been fantastic.
Always a pleasure to order for collection in about 15mins. Big smiles from the Chinese staff. Very wide menu as well as traditional 'Fish n Chips '. Main road, parking in ALDI across road or outside if you 're lucky. Average prices £12 two huge Chow Meins and Chop Suey. Not sit-in.
What a hidden gem we found here. We were looking at somewhere else to eat when we found this Chinese takeaway and how happy we were to find it. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The food is delicious, always consistent, and they serve the best chips and gravy I have ever tasted! This restaurant has been a favorite of mine for the past 20 years, ever since it was just around the corner from my first house. It is my go-to spot for Chinese cuisine.
