Beaumont lacks diverse dining options, and Frijoles stands out as one of the better choices for a meal. While their portions are generous, I find the prices a bit steep. I typically enjoy dining in, but this time I opted for takeout. Some highlights from our order: The shrimp ceviche tostada were flavorful and well balanced, but unfortunately, the tostada got soggy on the 15 minute drive home. The shrimp cocktail was generously portioned and well seasoned; we added some Tapatio at home for an extra kick, but it was already tasty on its own. New owners are amazing, along with the wait staff!!! Last week we came in to eat, and my brother was in a wheelchair and we were going to sit outside, but it was a bit chilly out. All the tables inside that were left were bar high tables..so our waiter went in and switched out the high table for a low one that my brother could sit at inside. We went back again tonight and my brother is having troubles so he wanted to sit in the car we backed into the first handicap spot. They promptly pulled over a table close to the car so the rest of us could sit a table and him in the car and we had our dinner. When I approached the counter, I was greeted by a friendly lady. The atmosphere of the place felt clean and relaxed. However, I was a bit taken aback by the discrepancy between the prices listed online and what I was charged. I understood that the staff member taking my order wasn't responsible for this, so I didn't make a big fuss, but it did leave me feeling a little unsettled. It would be a good idea to update the online menu pricing. After paying, we left with two Cali burritos and one asada burrito. The portion sizes were decent, and the flavors were enjoyable. Delicious! All the food was delicious and authentic. The horchata was very authentic and a little grainy, which I love. I had the street tacos and rice and beans. Absolutely delicious. Would come again just for the beans and chips. Chips are obviously home made. My friend had chorizo and eggs for breakfast along with a mimosa. Mimosa was HUGE and juice was definitely fresh. Overall great experience.
Truly a GEM, Dora is very sweet and a great cook, her and husband do it right. I was very pleased especially since we all took a chance as none of us had ever eaten here before. I recommend this place highly. Everything was very tasty and the meats were lean as well. Thank you for a great experience.
The food was terrible and in a town loaded with plenty of good Mexican restaurants I think they will struggle to build a following! The price... we ordered the family chicken dinner at a cost of $42.00! Wow, you might be able to justify the the price but the food must be really good! Sorry!!!
This place offers amazing food, just like home-cooked meals from mom. I can't praise the staff enough; they deserve 10 stars! I absolutely love this hidden gem. Prices went up on everything Kinda bummed on that $4 and some change for beers during happy hour is alright, was told $3 on the phone. Overall wanted this place to be better.
