Staying at a Sta. Monica hotel at Christmas hungry for a good pastrami, we located Fromin’s on google. I have found finding a great pastrami challenging. I had no expectation to be honest. Well, my son I were quite pleasantly surprised. The pastrami was melt in my mouth yummy! Minimal fat, just enough for a tender moist pastrami, and thinly sliced, but stacked. The potato pancakes were so good. Well seasoned, and fried to a nice crunch. My son had eggs Benedict he said were delicious! The lady who seated us was so friendly accommodating, as well as Maria our server, who was right on top of everything it’s a busy place. The entire staff worked as a team and performed like a well oiled machine...
After reading so many “It’s great!” “No, it’s terrible!” reviews I decided to give it a try for takeout—mainly because I’m renting a place a couple of blocks away. Really wasn’t sure what to expect. First, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I ordered the brisket dinner with baked potato. Also matzoh ball soup. Was quite pleasantly surprised. Soup was really good. Matzoh ball was perfect and huge. Brisket was very tasty, very little fat, and portions were very generous. Baked potato and vegetables were excellent. Based on this experience I’ll definitely go back.
Comfortable, remodeled recently, good and fast service. However, the best feature is the quality of the deli. Great pickles, on location cured pastrami, properly finished rare roast beef. The salads are huge (a half order is enough). A bit expensive... It is in Santa Monica about 20 blocks from the beach. Great place for classical deli food and atmosphere!
A classic! Stopped by for a late lunch and everything is great! Really fast service and great Jewish deli choices (among so many other goodies too) loved their matzo ball soup, hot brisket sandwich and bagels!! Great people great service great spot! Will come back again!

What a great deli! Good food and prices. Comfortable atmosphere. Fromin's in Santa Minica is one of my favorite places to go.
I've eaten at Fromin's many times And I have to say as a deli, their food is ok, not great, but satisfactory.
We need more quality neighborhood places like this! So good and consistent.
