We have had two meals at the Adelaide Sailing Club (The Clubhouse Bar Bistro) over the past two weeks. WOW!!! What a turn-around with the new chef Kieren. The new menu (Australian/Mediterranean) and Specials are fantastic. The quality of the meals is excellent and timely. We have had the Chicken Schnitzel (freshly made not frozen style) which is huge and very tasteful, the Wood-fired Lamb Shoulder (melts in the mouth) and the Char-grilled Scotch Fillet (cooked exactly as requested) also melts in the mouth. This restaurant is a fantastic hidden gem. It features a charming vintage sailing theme adorned with lovely artwork. It's a perfect place to catch the sunset. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. The drinks and food menu offered a variety of options, ensuring there's something for everyone, with seafood taking center stage. The facilities were clean, and the COVID protocols were straightforward and in accordance with current guidelines. We will definitely be adding this spot to our list of places to revisit, and we’ll keep an eye on their social media for upcoming events. Thanks again, and we look forward to coming back soon!
The staff is friendly, and the food is served in a timely manner. The wine list has been refreshed and includes a nice selection of Australian wines. While I do miss having a bread roll with my dinner, I really enjoy their excellent garlic pizza bread, which has replaced the rolls. There’s also a charming little sailboat in the corner filled with toys and books, making it a great family-friendly spot—there are usually plenty of kids around to keep your little ones entertained while you enjoy your meal! I highly recommend giving this place a try, especially since parking is free, which is a nice bonus compared to Glenelg!
What a fantastic Melbourne Cup afternoon! The decorations were exceptional, the food was top-notch, and the service was impeccable. The entire event was flawlessly organized, and we can't wait to return. Kudos to everyone involved in organizing, managing, and preparing the food! We enjoyed not only two excellent courses but also some delightful appetizers upon arrival, including oysters served in two styles and baguettes with smoked salmon and a variety of other toppings. Best Balcony!. The Schnitzel night on a Wednesday is great value. The view is fantastic. There is a full bistro menu available too and having a wine with nibbles on the balcony is glorious. A hidden treasure off the main drag but right on the beach! Very relaxing, no bustle.
This restaurant was relaunched in November 2018 as Oceanique Bar and Restaurant under professional management. Run by Sam and Lucy Dunning it has the best hosts and the best views on the coast. Check them out on facebook
