This was my first time ordering Indian food in Quebec. While in Montreal for business, we were unable to dine out due to the 28-day indoor dining restrictions in Quebec. We usually ordered rice dishes from a Japanese restaurant, but wanted something different for dinner. I opted for the fish pakora from this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The fish was flavorful and accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce that complemented the light, crispy batter perfectly. The portion size was generous and easily satisfied two people. Overall, the fish pakora was delicious and a great choice for a satisfying meal.
I dont know about other provinces but this gentle and warm spirited family come out with food consistently prepared in food heaven. The lamb vindalloo has the very best sauce ever created and it is tender to perfection all the time. The nan is just...perfect and there is a magic there that just stike the bulls eyes all over my insides. I think the food is underated at 4.5 stars and only the decor could use improvement but it does not bother me much.The service and food is all the way up there this is worth a trip really!
Eating here is always a delight. The decor is minimalistic and simple though the colours are soothing. the staff is family and they are simply lovely people, the service is always beyond reproach they always go a step beyond to please you and accommodate any...request. The food is just delicious, my mouth is watering writing this quick review!! And the prices are so fair, and you bring your own wine, there is nothing you can not love here. It's a regular go to.
We have been visiting Gaj since they first opened, but it never occurred to me to leave a review until now. This restaurant is truly the best Indian food we have ever had, whether dining in or getting takeout. Minesh and his family clearly know what they are doing, and every recommendation we have followed from them has been spot on. We went there expecting good Indian food. Tandoori chicken was recycled -rewarmed, chicken tikka was dry and over-cooked. Naan was excellent. No condiments of any kind provided. Price was steep for the quality and quantity of food. Service was sparce, ambiance was average and no...music of any kind except family members of the owners chatting away loudly in one corner.
I ordered with uber food and everything went fine. the food is good but not great.the quantity for 2 is very average. I’ve ordered out this kind a food often and i must say they are very pricey for the quantity you get. (a bit...of rice,2 small half filled container and bread for about 40$ also tried calling the language barrier was a problem.
We have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. The food has always been great and the service is very friendly. My family and I have tried a variety of items from the menu over the years. One of my children loves the lamb, another prefers the chicken, and my youngest enjoys the vegetarian options.
