As someone who suffers from lactose intolerance, I often have a hard time finding good gelato. Most times, gelato spots will only have sorbet available as a non dairy option. Sorbet is good, but it's definitely not gelato. Gelato Messina not only had numerous non dairy options, but their non dairy options were DELICIOUS. The hotel my family and I were staying in was about a block and half away, and we visited Gelato Messina almost every day we were in Sydney. If they have the pandan flavor available when you visit you should definitely have a taste!
This place is a paradise for ice cream lovers! You can even see the flavors being made through a glass window in the back, using milk from Messina's Jersey cows. For just six dollars, you can get one scoop, or eight dollars for two. My wife enjoyed her fig and amaretto with pancetta flavor, but I personally think I made the better choice with chocolate and peanut butter. Make sure to sample a few flavors with the tasting spoons before making your final decision.
After a dinner in Surry Hills it’s a tradition for us when we come to Sydney and we weren’t disappointed it was very yummy as usual. I had run and raisin and bounty and both were amazingly yummy. There were 4 of us having ice cream and everyone enjoyed their dessert. We will be back we love Messina
The worse ice cream I have tasted in my life. We were very much looking forward to a nice ice cream on our second night in Sydney. Very disappointed with the strange taste the mint ice cream had to it. My husband and I both ordered the same and it had to go straight into the bin!!

I love gelato and a friend told me I needed to check this place out while visiting Australia. The place offers 5 unique weekly flavors added to their usual flavors. I had a delicious praline pistachio flavor and wish I had had the room for more in my belly.
We tried one bowl of Pistacchio Praline and were so overwhelmed by the savoury, creamy taste and the entire pistaccios inside. This flavour is our favourite and we wished to have tried it before! One bowl in a cone costs around AUD 4.30.
The gelato at Gelato Messina is outstanding. They offer a wide variety of flavors that are both impressive and delicious. I appreciate that they frequently update their flavor offerings. Gelato Messina is definitely worth a visit.
We loved the flavors of the food. We couldn't even take a picture because we devoured the ice creams too quickly, but they were excellent! The restaurant also had a great selection of vegan options on the menu.

Too sweet, over rated fake italian gellato. Dont believe the hype, there are far better gellato places in Sydney.
Wonderful pistachio ice cream and lots of other interesting flavours great quality and service with a smile.
